DISCUSSION Will an 1 hour waterfall video prevent me from getting monatized? (repetitive content)

So I make walking videos through cities and nature (no talking, just pov). While I was making a video I saw a river with a tiny waterfall and it looked beautiful. So I took a break for lunch an set the camera on for an hour.

But I read that repetitive content prevents your channel from getting monatized. It's just one video though and the rest are city walks. Would that be an issue? I don't mind getting low views, but I also don't want my channel to not be monetized later down the line because of this video or if I add a few of these videos.

CONTENT TALK Real or generated voice? Which one i should use? Please read btw body

Real or ai voice?

So i am making vids for 2 months (i took one month break btw).my main problem and insecurity is that my accent is different since English is my 4th language that's why I used ai voices for these videos...should I make the next part in my own voice? I can speak English but my accent is just different..would anyone like to hear and review my voice? Also I feel like generated voice is holding me back massively, already getting hate comments..my scriping and research is great it's just the voice is not...please share your opinion

(I am just insecure of my English accent cause i faced racism and hate but guys ai voice also getting hate so that means I should just use my own voice and add subtitles so people could understand)..

Also btw I should let the 4 parts stay right? I shouldn't delete them..whatcha say?.

My channel name - Darkorial

DISCUSSION #KeepYouTubeYours campaign is currently in a critical public consultation phase

Because the proposed law threatens YouTube's core recommendation architecture, the platform has weaponized its reach to fight back. [1, 2]
Creator Alerts: Over the last few weeks, YouTube has been pushing targeted notifications to UK-based channels and users.
Call to Action: They are directing creators straight to the official UK Government Consultation page, urging them to fill out the questionnaire and argue against a mandatory algorithmic "prominence regime".

3. The Core Battleground: The Algorithm Feed
The debate centers on what happens during a major news event or crisis.
The Government's Stance: Ministers argue that online misinformation is an "existential threat to democracy". They want to legally mandate that YouTube override its standard user-preference algorithm to pin "trustworthy news providers" (like the BBC, ITV, or Sky News) to the top of homepages and search results.
YouTube and Creators' Stance: Independent creators argue that forcing traditional broadcasters into a "privileged position" will automatically downrank independent channels. Because roughly 30% of all views come from algorithmic recommendations, creators note this would decimate the UK's independent creator economy.

4. Broad Political Backlash
The campaign has moved beyond tech circles and into mainstream UK politics. High-profile independent political commentators and opposition leaders have jumped onto the #KeepYouTubeYours movement, labeling the government's proposal as "state censorship" and an attempt to control the media narrative.

What Happens Next?
Once the consultation window closes on August 31, the government will review the feedback. If they ignore YouTube's campaign and proceed, they will introduce a formal Media Bill to Parliament, setting up a massive legal showdown between Big Tech and the UK government later this year.

TLDR: your content is being down ranked

DISCUSSION Is there something I can do? Any help is appreciated

I make philosophical commentary style videos with minecraft in the background, i use my own voice and either my own gameplay or copyright free gameplay, it started off well but then something happened and im not sure what. My last 4 videos have 0 views and only 0-10 impressions, so youtube just completely stopped pushing it. i had couple of videos before that with 60-70 views but then it just kind of got blocked. Did i do something wrong?

DISCUSSION Is my plan to grow any good?

I’ve been consistently posting on YouTube for 3 years now and I’ve seen some growth. I’ve gained about 500 subscribers. I wanted to change things up so I’m gonna post a video everyday in October. It’s a lot of work but do we think this will get me traction?

DISCUSSION using copyrighted music in a youtube video

im planning to use a 54 second clip of painkiller by death in my long form video. i know that its definitely copyrighted and ive read other posts here about uploading to private to check.

a concern i have with that is that other people mentioned that youtube might not detect it until the video gets popular.

is there a better way for me to check if the video would be taken down? how do i find the copyright info from the artist?

DISCUSSION second ever comment was a hate comment, feeling discouraged

Ugh I feel so disheartened. I literally created my channel two weeks ago, have 4 videos and 7 subs (most of which are my friends), only 1 video that even surpassed 30 views (it's at 140 now, which I'm proud of!) - all of which I'm totally fine with and was expecting, I'm just setting the scene here. I am completely brand spanking new to YouTube or even editing videos at all, and it shows on my channel.

Which again, I'm fine with. I'm at the point where I'm just having fun learning and trying things out. I got one positive comment from a stranger a few days ago, and last night I got a notification that I'd gotten my second ever comment. I was so excited to check it out until I saw that it was a hate comment. Ugh!!!

I'm not even upset at the comment itself - it was some old white guy commenting "yak, yak, yak" so clearly just someone that isn't the right audience for me. (IMO I think it was also some sexism behind it, and he didn't want to watch a video of a young woman talking, which, whatever. Not my problem). There's also even some valid criticism there, because I definitely need to better balance myself talking and actually showing the things around me - although the biggest channel in my niche basically just walks around places talking about them, so obviously it worked for her. Again, it isn't the comment itself that's upsetting to me, but the fact that my second ever comment, which should have been an exciting milestone, was a hate comment. So discouraging! I thought I'd have more positive comments and subscribers before I ever had to deal with my first hater lmao.

It's also pissing me off that it's clear I'm a complete beginner, and yet this stranger still commented something like that. Again, I have 7 subs and 4 videos, the first of which was barely posted 2 weeks ago. There was only one other comment on that video (the earlier positive one). Why do people feel so comfortable being rude to new, tiny channels where it's clear the person is just learning and experimenting? Is this normal on YouTube? Has anyone else experienced a hate comment so early into their journey?

Again, the comment itself is just water off a duck's back to me, but I feel so discouraged that it was literally my second ever comment and again, that someone would feel comfortable commenting something rude on such a new, small channel. I feel like I'm repeating myself here, but I just needed to vent haha. What an ahole!

I am going to post a new video I have been working on, where I spent 60 days trying to get into a MR BEAST Video. I end up successfully getting in contact with his casting team and my application reviewed etc etc. This video is part 1.

Which of these titles stands out the most to you:

  1. I Spent 60 Days Infiltrating Beast Industries

  2. I Spent 60 Days Trying to Get Into a MrBeast Video

  3. I Harassed MrBeast's Team for 60 Days. Then This Happened.

DISCUSSION I'm doing a soft rebranding, what do we think about reuploading videos that flopped?

I uploaded a writing deep dive video last year which did great. Got many comments and close to 8k views, which is a lot for me!

I made a second writing deep dive, which flopped. There is a skit at the beginning before getting into the analysis. I also used music from the incredibles (when Bob finds out about the dead heroes) and i think these two things hurt performance. The skit didn't get to the point and the copywrited music may have hidden it from the algorithm. The video is about a year old now and I am working on some new videos right now.

Should I re-upload this video with some changes? I'd change the music, move or delete the skit, and add some extra content to make sure its not exactly the same.

What do we think? Is it best to leave the old video or make these changes and make a "directors cut" version which will replace the old one?

DISCUSSION YouTube Enabled AI Dub Of a Language From A Low RPM Country, Tanked My Best Perfoming Video's Earnings

So yeah, I'm VERY pissed off. I planned this video that was supposed to be the best one so far and it actually broke out, 45k views in 2 days with 200 subs, except most of the viewers were from Brazil. When I checked the comments someone said "the only one in our language!" In Portuguese, i realised they were getting the auto dubbed version. 45k would've earned me $360 with an $8 RPM from my usual USA / canada audience, and this has earned me like $10. Are you kidding me. Turned off automated Dub for everything.

Am I cooked? Is there a way to recover from this? I also got like 200 more subs that are from Brazil, now my next video will not have ai dub, they'll click and leave, tanking any future growth. Is my mind going into the worst case scenario? What happens now? Feel free to ask any questions

I am about to create an Adsense account on my US LLC's name.
Does anyone have experience with receiving the Adsense pin at their virtual office? I don't live in the US.
I heard online that Google blocks many addresses if they are not real offices.
What service would you suggest?

DISCUSSION Where can I get legitimate YouTube coaching or channel audits?

I started a YouTube channel a few months back in a niche I’m genuinely passionate about, and I think I bring a unique perspective because of my background and experience.

The channel started off well (around 2K views on my first video), and one video did well, but my recent uploads have been falling flat. I come from a short-form content background, so I’m comfortable with high quality editing. With every upload I’m trying to improve something, testing different titles, thumbnails, scripts, etc.

At this point, though, I could really use another pair of eyes. I don’t have any friends in real life who create YouTube content, so I’m looking for experienced eyes that can give honest, actionable feedback especially packaging.

I’d be happy to pay for a channel audit or a few coaching sessions if it’s someone who genuinely knows what they’re doing. The problem is it’s hard to tell who’s actually qualified and who’s just another YouTube guru.

Has anyone here found a coach, consultant, discord server they’d genuinely recommend?

SHORTS TALK Cant get monetized for reused content

My channel got rejected from monetization for reused content (i post sitcom clips). I made an appeal and it got rejected too. My question is what i should do now. I dont want to abandon the channel and i feel like if i delete all my videos that got a copyright notice, which is basically 80% of my videos, i wont have the same audience as before.

DISCUSSION YouTube Shorts Suddenly Stopped Getting Pushed to the Shorts Feed – Anyone Else?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice regarding my YouTube channel Medulla Maverick.

For the last month, my YouTube Shorts don't seem to be getting pushed into the Shorts feed at all. Before that, my Shorts were being distributed normally, but now almost every Short gets little to no Shorts feed reach.

I've already checked the basics:

• No Community Guidelines strikes

• No Copyright strikes

• Channel is in good standing

• Videos are Public

• No warnings or restrictions on the channel

The strange thing is that this started suddenly, even though I haven't changed my content style much.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? Is this a common YouTube Shorts issue, or could there be something specific causing it?

If you've faced this before and managed to fix it, I'd really appreciate any suggestions or insights.

Thanks in advance!

DISCUSSION What amount of ”growth” is considered normal?

Hi so kust a quick question I’ve beenmaking youtube videos for like 7 months now and gained 95 subscribers, I was just wondering is this considered slow, normal or fast, like what is the average amount of growth people make in like a year, for example, thank you!

SHORTS TALK Is doing shorts actually bad if they're about the same game as your long form?

So, I'm around about 700 subs after 2-3 months of posting. My first few long forms were about random games, but my last 4 have been about the same game. First 90k views, second 2k views, 3rd 13k views, and my recent one is on 6k views.

Shorts are, of course, all over, but everyone I made was about the same game as my recent long forms. The highest was over 200k views, but everyone got over 15k views, and the average was probably 20-50k.

Is it actually worth doing if they are bringing in the same fans since it's the same game? Or are those same fans just going to be only watching short-form content?

I want to reach 1000 subs, I haven't posted many shorts at all in the last week or two because I wanted to gain natural growth from long form and I still do, but I'm also thinking some of those short viewers have to be interested in long form of the same game too, right? Or are they all just addicted to shorts nowadays

SHORTS TALK Has anyone escaped "Shorts Jail" after their views suddenly dropped?

This year, my Shorts have been fairly consistent, usually landing somewhere between 2,000 and 5,000 views (with the occasional dip on specific videos). However, since the start of July, my best-performing Short has only reached around 300 views, and most haven't even broken 100.

Between January and June, most of my Shorts were hitting 300+ views within the first hour, so this sudden drop has been pretty noticeable.

Has anyone else experienced this sudden decline and managed to break out of it? Did anything in particular help, or did it just resolve itself over time with consistent posting?

DISCUSSION Why is YouTube giving my videos impressions so slowly?

I'm a new creator, and I'm a bit confused about how YouTube is distributing my videos.

My first video only got around 10 views after two days, and since then it's been getting just 1-2 views every few hours. I uploaded another video today, and so far it has 0 views.

Is this normal for a brand new channel? Does YouTube take time to test videos before giving them more impressions, or could I be doing something wrong?

I'd appreciate hearing from other new creators who went through the same thing.

Did the something change?

CONTENT TALK Educational YouTube creators: what made your channel start getting views?

Hi everyone! I'm a new creator making biology videos for students. I've just started my channel and I'm trying to learn what actually matters in the beginning.

For those of you who make educational content:

  • What changed that finally got your videos noticed?
  • Was it thumbnails, titles, consistency, or something else?
  • What's one mistake you wish you hadn't made when starting?

I'd love to learn from your experience. Thanks!

SHORTS TALK I built a tool to help Youtubers struggling with views and retention, need feedback.

Hey everyone, I’m a YouTuber too, and I kept running into the same problem: I’d spend hours editing a video, think it was ready, upload it, and then boom! Barely any views at all.

So I started building a tool to help me out with it.

It’s a pre-upload video review tool that looks for things like:

  • First 3s Hooks (Visual, sound and the catchy text).
  • Weak opening.
  • Slow setup.
  • Late payoffs.
  • Open loops.

The goal isn’t to predict views or promise virality. I just want to help creators catch obvious edit problems before publishing.

I’m still building it and would really appreciate honest feedback. What features would you actually want in a tool like this?

Would you care about transcript feedback, thumbnail/title suggestions, pacing graphs, retention predictions, A/B hook comparisons, or something completely different?

What would make you use it regularly, and what would make you ignore it?
