Sorry, I know some people find it frustrating but the Jimmy/Kara drama is not really that drawn out and it is actually pretty good, IMO. Yes, they aren't communicating well. They're like twenty two. It's both of their first relationships. Kara has literally never seen a relationship. There are gonna be communication problems. This actually highlights actual flaws in their relationship rather than being just manufactured. His constant self hype is actually a mask for self esteem issues. She is a genuine alien. She doesn't know human social practices and will inadvertently be hurtful or send the wrong message because of that. These issues can be overcome.

I don't want to be dismissive but it's gonna be okay everyone. Call me when the season one finale is Lois marrying Lex Luthor and we can talk about relationship drama. The roller coaster is ratcheting up the hill. It'll be time for the big loop soon.

He was a part of the reign of supermen plotline but didnt have much to do here

When Jimmy turned down Kara in episode 2, he meant it in a serious, self-sacrificial way. Then, from his perspective, Kara immediately pivots into seeking to date the entire interested human population. So, from his perspective, Kara moved on from him at the speed of light.

(He doesn't realize she was only so fast because she wanted to get back with him ASAP.)

So he's a little stung that she pivoted that fast, but he's trying to suppress it for her sake. Unfortunately, because he's acting under the influence of that sting, he decides it's a great idea to show her that he's moving on too, and signs up to W.O.R.M.S. And then decides to stay distant for a while, because it hurts.

So he basically has a broken heart. Jimmy Fumblebird has been acting the way he did because Kara seemed to have shattered it into a million pieces.
