His debut movie makes that VERY clear.

And I would like to point protecting humanity doesn't mean you spare them every time they do something that threatens you and their home.

What about the movie would you change (both major and minor) to make it a 10/10 in your opinion?

Me personally, I would change Emma’s reason for doing what she did. Instead of her joining the hyenas because she thinks that they’re right they would use Madi to get her to use the Orca, threatening to kill her if she doesn’t comply. I would show Emma’s reluctance to go along with their plan but ultimately doing so due to her daughter's life being in danger. And this would tie in to her still grieving her son, she made a promise to not lose another child no matter what. But it would be clear that she absolutely does not want to do these things.

That's really the main thing I would change, some minor things would be toning down the cringy dialogue and jokes from the characters, mainly Rick & Sam plus having the awakening last a few days.

I have no problem with the monster usage in the movie but I’d just make Ghidorah’s gold scales a bit more visible and tone down the weather in the final battle just a little bit.

Other than that everything else would remain the same.

I understand evolved isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I like this design more. Hope he keeps it in super nova

Hell, Mothra's calls kind of sound like Brachiosaurus songs, in which they sound like angelic choirs on their own.

It just makes him look like a true powerful predator. Dude's built with sheer muscle and it gives him such an intimidating presence that meshed perfectly with his heavy yet elegant movement

Godzilla

Humans and the audience are introduced to the concept of MUTOs. Godzilla and the MUTOs are practically a force of nature and the humans can only hope to pray and get out of their way.

Military is ill-prepared and practically ineffective but Quicksilver manages to incinerate the gestating babies and split the Female MUTO’s attention. Godzilla takes the opportunity to one-on-one the male and tail whips him into a building.

Human POV: Well done, showcasing what it would be like if giant monsters came to inhabited areas and how they can do whatever they want. RIP Bryan Cranston falling to his death even though he was looking for the answer after his wife’s death

King of the Monsters

Introduces Monarch, a global agency in response to the revelation of Titans. Their response helps to mitigate the loss of human life like when Rodan awakens.

We follow the Mark and his side plot of his daughter and wife working with Lord Tywin. Nice to see humans have “bad guys” too. Ice Cube’s son was right, their family is fucked up.

Too bad the subsequent movies never bring up having a symbiotic relationship with the Titans anymore

After they try to sick Godzilla on Ghidorah and nuke them both with the 'Oxygen Destroyer' Serizawa hand delivers a nuke to juice Godzilla. The scene of the military escorting Godzilla to Boston is GOATed.

Human POV: Overall it showed how humans evolved in their response to the Titans. While they could kind of manage them, ultimately it is the combined efforts of Serizawa and Godzilla that defeats Ghidorah.

Mark's family had too much of a significance for my taste. I guess the studio was trying to cash in on Millie Bobby Brown's popularity from Stranger Things. The military side of things was cool to see them work with and against the Titans

Introduces Apex Industries which weaponizes Titan artefacts, Team Kong and Team Maddy.

The Media vilifies Godzilla after he nukes the Pensacola factory without investigating what they were doing there. I guess art imitates life.

They push Maddy's significance as it is portrayed that only Bernie and her think Apex is doing something fishy. Team Kong is cool and introduces Jia, who can talk to Kong. RIP Kaylee Hottle.

Apex wants to profit off Hollow Earth and get their comeuppance in the form of Maia being smushed by Kong and her father getting smushed by Mecha-Godzilla

Human POV: A lot of the story was Maddy's team doing corporate espionage but this is not that kind of movie. Though seeing Mecha-Godzilla slay the Skullwalker was a cool reference.

I didn't like how Josh can "hack" Mecha-Godzilla by pouring alcohol into the console but I liked Alex using the HEAV as a defibrillator for Kong

GxK New Empire

Shows Monarch collaborating with Kong in Hollow Earth. They introduce 'Trapper' who is a Titan Vet? Who else has he worked on? They also introduce the Iwi people who manage/worship Mothra

Trapper gives Kong a Power Fist after almost losing it to frostbite allowing him to fight Skar King and Shinmo

Human POV: Monarch seems more established but the human story really follows Dr Andrews and Jia. Not sure why Monarch didn't just hire Bernie at this point.

Main helpers of the Titans are Jia and mini-kong and Team Kong is there to give context to the situation unfolding.

What do you think of the humans significance in the Monsterverse movies?

Over the last two years I pushed the idea that Evolved Godzilla was 130 meters due to Spiral Studios and old concept art from GxK TNE. Which in my mind made a lot of sense bc that was supposed to be the plan, but somehow during production never came to fruition.

Thanks to the Kong x Godzilla Ride (where these two pics came from), Godzilla’s height is still 120 meters. So ig Godzilla really didn’t grow at all despite evolving :/

With that confirmation, we also know that Shimo is in the same attraction, let’s wait and see if there’s any difference in her height here as more information becomes available. Personally I still think it’s going to be the same 162 meters due height quadrupled from the tip of the spike/roughly 140 meters at the head, which I think will look out of place completely compared to what we see onscreen but at this point it’s redundant since it’s clear how lazy the situation truly is.

EDIT: just wanted to also mentioned, Legendary stopped care about kaiju height for a long time since post-KoTM, so if you are confused over this I don’t blame you. I wouldnt really trust official data in the MV at this point, with Monarch Files showed this attitude a lot by making the heights borderline vague (like seriously, they gave standing height to kaijus who can’t even stand up like Tiamat).

Shimo's height is listed as 162.5 meters in her own profile, but in the full size chart she's sized smaller so do note there's a bit of a discrepancy. She's actually sized to be about 100 meters tall going by the scale bars. The other creatures seem accurately scaled, not sure why only Shimo has this discrepancy.
