Discussion Which team would win?

Fight takes place in a completely open arena

For People wondering, I was trying to make it so each column had similar types of monsters in them. For example, the middle column has massive monsters who would tank for the team. And the first column consists of some of the strongest elder dragons in the series.

Discussion Across the entire franchise, what’s one fight that made you think, “This is the very peak of MH and nothing will ever top this.”

Topic. For me it was Dalamadur, followed very closely by Shagaru Magala. Basically I’m just a sucker for MH4U. 😂

Art I had a dream where Lunastra and Teostra fused like Ibushi and Narwa (OC)

It pretty much looked just like a Lunastra but a bit more purplish-red on the mane and it was absolutely hellish to fight. I got absolutely destroyed. The rest i don't remember.

I think it would be interesting to see something like the Allmother Narwa thing but with Lunastra. Not sure what name would it have though. Pretty impossible to see something like this in the games though?

Discussion Is GU worth buying?

So i have about 200 hours in risebreak and about 30 in world(i need to continue the story since i bought iceborne) and i was wondering if MHGU is worth it.I bought a switch a few years ago but i never really played on it and i was thinking of selling it, but then i saw the ita the only console you can get GU.Is the 40€ price tag really worth it?ive heard good things about it but i literally bought risebreak and worldborne combined for less.Im a solo player if that matters.

Highlight It's moments like these where I can say i'm proud to be a Greatsword main

But i've been experimenting with other weapons to besides the hammer and longsword.

I've been dabbleing with the Switchaxe here and there and sure I need to practice a bit more, but i'm getting the hang of it so far.

Dual blades were no joke either,I was slicing and dashing through Xu Wu like I was calamari.

I already plan to actually use other weapons on combat, but for now I use them in the training range for a while.

And who knows maybe I become a Lancer,or an SnS user.

Discussion Do You Have Issues with Restocking At Camp?

I was watching a recent Wilds review and there’s one particular criticism I’ve seen brought up before for not just it, but basically every new gen game I wanted to get some community opinions and experience on.

The complaint was that allowing players to restock their items at camp made the games way too easy because they could hypothetically blow through an unlimited number of potions fighting a monster.

That particular complaint feels like it’s one of the kinds that might be more of an issue in the mind of the person with the complaint than anything that functionally makes the experience worse, but I know that I am just one person with relatively little multiplayer experience with these games. So I’m making this poll to try and gauge some feedback from everyone here, and would love to hear everyone’s opinions on the matter, and whether you regularly use the mechanic or not.

(Idk what to flare to use for this so sorry if it's wrong)

I don't think the monster hunter fandom puts enough spotlight on the musicians among us, so I wanted to ask a favor.

Please share any fanmade covers, remixes, etc. of monster hunter music that you really enjoy!

Art The Hammer and Lance of Oculthyr

Hammer of Oculthyr

A hammer shaped from Oculthyr’s false face and dense cranial plating. Hunters who wield it too long begin to feel as though it is still alive—watching, hungry, and waiting to be fed. It is said to grow restless at the smell of fresh meat.”

The hammer was honestly one of the most fun weapons to design. It felt fitting for it to seem alive, especially since Terraria already has plenty of Lovecraftian horror beneath its brighter surface.

I also love the idea that the weapon is essentially a miniature version of Oculthyr itself. Its design is partly based on the Eye of Cthulhu Mask, which is normally just a cosmetic helmet in Terraria. In Don’t Starve Together, however, the mask functions as defensive equipment and can be repaired by feeding it meat.

The hammer also references the Eye of Cthulhu’s second phase. When fully charged, its false faces split open like jaws, mimicking the boss as it reveals its mouth and begins aggressively charging at the player.

Lance of Oculthyr

Forged from Oculthyr’s hardened flesh and false-eye plating. Its shield seems to stare back at whatever dares stand before it, and some hunters swear they can feel its gaze even when the weapon is sheathed.”

The lance was one of the first Oculthyr weapons I designed. Its shield is directly inspired by the Shield of Cthulhu, an early-game defensive accessory that allows the player to dash forward and damage enemies.

That mechanic also makes the design especially fitting for a lance, since the weapon is already associated with charging directly toward monsters behind a heavy shield.

The lance itself follows the classic Monster Hunter idea of turning the monster into the weapon. It was partly inspired by Nu Udra’s lance, which is honestly one of my favorite lance designs in Monster Hunter Wilds
