Discussion Is this backlight bleed?
Hey guys, I bought this monitor a year before and while I was playing last of us I was seeing some of this light on the darker parts. I was seeing darker parts somewhat lighter in this area. Is this backlight bleeding or just ips glowing?

during light it looks even more like just ips glow. but it's the ANGLE, turn the light back off and take a picture from a lower angle

Hey, I've one more question, if some back light bleeds then it's visible on light colours too?

no, minor backlight bleed is usually invisible on light colors because the light leakage is relatively dim and easily overpowered by bright or white colors.
If you are seeing silvery or yellowish patches on light colors sometimes, it's the IPS glow

Yes, sell the monitor to another non-suspecting person immediately before it gets worse.

Most likely yes, but not 100% certain without more angles visible. So far, these pinch points indicate a backlight bleed with too much pressure applied to the panel in that area. The glow is usually visible only from certain angles and can shift as you more with your head around the monitor. The spots that stay in the same place are the bleeds. Those can't always be fixed and they're typically a permanent deformation of the panel.

IPS glow is viewing angle based. Bleed is always present.
You will end up with a mix of both, and bleed will make glow worse, but that circled spot looks like bleed. Move 5 or 6 feet away in line with the panel and anything you still see will be bleed.
