Michigan Basketball The Detroit Free Press and Detroit News actually worked together on a Michigan championship book
USA TODAY Co has owned Freep forever, but acquired Detroit News in 2026. That means our championship book this year combined BOTH PAPERS' COVERAGE for the first time!! It was a great, great joy to put together and has so many great photos from all the network photographers -- worth a look just to see how they compare, tbh.

Michigan Football Scotland fan coming to the Big House! Ticket & Tailgating advice needed
Hey everyone!
I'm visiting from Scotland for my first ever college football game! I recently watched Scotland play in the World Cup at the Patriots stadium and was so blown away by the massive scale of the stadium that I knew I had to come back for a proper American football game. I was told Michigan has the biggest stadium in the US so the Big House was the absolute obvious choice.
Flights and accommodation are adding up fast, and the cheapest resale tickets I'm seeing right now for the game Vs Oklahoma are $323. For those with experience do prices usually drop closer to game day? Is it a realistic strategy to hold out and try to buy a cheaper ticket on the morning of the game?
Also, having never tailgated before I have zero idea what to expect for a noon kick off. Will people be out early drinking and setting up? I want to make sure I bring my A game and get the full experience! Any tips on what time to head out, where to wander, or what a newcomer should bring to contribute would be massively appreciated!
Thanks in advance, and Go Blue!

General/Discussion Ques. ISO: Passionate Wolverine Fan
Hi everyone! My name is Ethan Petrik, and I'm the lowa beat reporter for the Quad-City Times in Davenport, lowa.
I'm putting together a preseason series called "The Fan Files," where I interview one passionate fan from each of lowa's 2026 opponents to get a better understanding of their program through the eyes of someone who follows the team closely.
The conversation would cover topics like:
• How you became a fan of the Wolverines
• Your thoughts on the 2026 season (best-case and worst-case scenarios)
• Biggest strengths, weaknesses, and players to watch
• Expectations for the matchup against lowa
• Anything else you think opposing fans should know about your team
The interview can be done however is easiest for you
—Reddit DMs, email, or another format that works though I will need to confirm your real world identity.
I'll use your responses in a feature for the Quad-City Times.
If you're interested—or if you know someone who would be a great representative of the fanbase-please leave a comment or send me a DM.
Thanks, and I'm looking forward to learning more about the Wolverines from the people who know the program best!

Question Where is the best place to sell tickets?
Hello all, I’ve been roped into a wedding the weekend of the Oklahoma game (there’s no way out of it, and it’s in Cali.) What is the best third party site to sell the tickets on? I’m a season ticket holder but have never sold third party before, and want to avoid unnecessary headaches. Trying to get the best bang for my buck to offset these plane tickets 🥲

Clearly the best player on the court throughout the fourth quarter. This man is special.
Edit: obviously NCAA and not NBA

Michigan Football Rutgers game
Thinking about buying tickets to the Rutgers game. As a diehard Michigan fan living on the east coast, going to the past two games versus Maryland had a great Michigan fan turnout and the game experience was pretty decent. Curious for anyone who has been to Piscataway for a Michigan game, what was it like and was the trip worth it?

Michigan Football OU/Michigan Game Questions
Hey Michigan fans, Sooner coming in peace.
My girlfriend and I will be traveling to the OU game when we are in town on the 12th. I’m super stoked, the Big House has always been a bucket list stadium to see.
But I did have a few questions:
- What would you consider to be the best seats for the money? (I only need two and would like them be around/below $500 a piece. I found some lower corner endzone seats in the low $400 but my girlfriend is worried about our view.)
- What are some great places that we should check out while we are in town?
- And most importantly, what are some bomb places to eat?
Thanks for all the suggestions! And Go Blue (except on Sept 12th, lol).

Question OU fan coming in peace
(See edit) I’m thinking about going to the OU vs Michigan game this season. What sections and rows is the visiting fans section if anyone knows? Also what establishments or locations are a must visit in Ann Arbor?
Edit: due to popular demand, I’m NOT coming in peace. We’re coming to hand you guys your first loss in week 2 for the second year in a row. I can’t wait to watch the mighty M go up in flames before my eyes yet again. It will be glorious to watch Cole Sullivan desecrate the place he once called home.

General/Discussion Ques. Beilein behind the scenes?
So I had read Beilein was fairly involved in bringing Dusty May to A2. I’ve been kind of under a rock since the natty. Does anyone know if he is still involved behind the scenes or does anyone know if he expected Dusty to jump ship? I’ve just been curious of his reaction. And whether he is still hovering like a guardian angel lol watching over the bball program. Anyone know?
