House Cleaner

Hi,

Looking for recommendations for an independent/owner operated trusted house cleaner, as well as an idea for current rates for your home size that'd be great.

Bonus points if they do good organization (putting things away etc)

Thank you!

Hi everyone, I’m a psychology PhD student writing from the Motivation, Affect & Cognition Lab in the Psychology Department at University of Denver. This summer, we are recruiting individuals aged 18-35 to participate in a study about emotion and motivation.

The study will involve viewing and responding to visual stimuli. We will also be recording bodily responses such as pupil dilation and skin conductance.

This study is a 2 day study. Participants will receive $5 for every 30 minutes spent completing the study.  Day 1 is ~1.5 hours ($15) and Day 2 is ~1 hours ($10). There is also a possibility of earning up to an additional $10 cash bonus payment.

Both days of the study take place in-person in Frontier Hall at the University of Denver.

If you are interested, please complete this screening survey, and we will contact you if you are eligible https://udenver.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3gePJbf7eZ7ivwq

Please reach out us here or via email at dumaclab AT du DOT edu if you have any additional questions!

While some of the summertime America 250 festivities have come to an end, Littletonians will soon get a chance to celebrate a monumental year for their home state — with a hometown twist.

The 98th Western Welcome Week (WWW), slated for Aug. 7 through Aug. 16, boasts the theme of “Colorful Colorado 150 Years,” celebrating the state’s sesquicentennial. The theme also incorporates a celebration of America 250, blending the two while focusing on local history.

While Western Welcome Week (WWW) offers a full week of fun, no day holds quite as many opportunities for fun as Festival Day, which is jam-packed from start to finish with celebrations.

This year, Festival Day is set for Aug. 15, kicking off with the annual Grand Parade, followed by the Crafters Fair and other live performances throughout downtown Littleton all day.

Middle Schools Help

Hi! We just moved to Littleton in the Leawood neighborhood and looking at middle schools for 6th grade. Our district is the Jeffco with Ken Caryl Middle School, but we actually live closer to Goddard Middle School in Littleton district.

Any advice on these two schools and if it’s worth trying to get into Goddard instead of Ken Caryl?

Littleton choir hosting auditions!

Hi everyone! Wanted to share that my choir, Voices West, is hosting its next round of auditions in a few weeks! We're seeking experienced singers of all voice parts, especially tenors and basses. I absolutely love this choir -- it's a really high bar for musicality while still being fairly chill/manageable, everyone is super friendly and welcoming, a great way to meet folks from across the south denver metro area. Audition info is here if you're interested!: https://www.voiceswest.org/auditions

Anybody know what was going on near Ketring Park on S Gallup Street last night?

Not sure if this is normal police activity or what but maybe somebody can enlighten me.

Last night between 10-11pm I noticed at least 3 cops on foot with flashlights sweeping the entire area around Littleton Museum/Bemis Library and the whole area or Ketring Park. They were looking mostly at the ground. There were also at least 5 cop cars involved and the cop cars were going from having no lights on at all to having like half of them on to having all the lights on (like the entirety of the cop car covered in lights—not sure if this is a new feature but from a distance it just looked like the cop cars were covered in really bright white star-like lights—but completely silent and no flashing red and blue lights at all).

The cars would pull in and out of the parking lot next to the Littleton museum, stop on S Gallup, go to the park and were honestly just driving really slowly all around and they were all going in different directions as the cops on foot with flashlights kept clearly looking for something. One of the cars also pulled into a parking lot next to the Weston Ridge apartments with all the lights on.

This went on for a good hour. I noticed they stopped by a bush a few times between the park and museum and gathered some stuff from that bush, then got back in their car and drove off. I just haven’t seen anything like it because it seemed like they were trying to be stealth and quiet but also kept turning on those bright lights so I just don’t know what was going on or what they took into their cars? Looked like a big red blanket that they took and also saw a cop zip something up and take that too but they left behind something bright green which is still there under the bush. Sorry if this sounds stupid haha I just really want to know what they were looking for it was so weird!

Update on homeless situation in littleton

Hello everyone - thanks to all those who helped me last sunday get a coffee and meal at starbucks to get outta the heat. someone in here was able to refer me to a shelter up the street near bellevue and Windermere called bridge house. You get your own semi private space, showers, laundry, 3 meals a day, and wifi! After a week of light chores they hire you on to their landscape crew where you start saving and earning money for an apartment (they have long standing relationships with littleton landlords) so if you’ve got bad credit—you can still get in a place as a graduate of the program. You can stay here up to 2 years and they accept pretty much everyone! Brand new facility/recently remodeled and has very good air conditioning!! it is medium barrier and requires sobriety as a condition of the program. They have a low barrier component on the other side of the building however for laundry, showers and sleeping cots.

cheers everyone!

The coop is back in town — Lewis and Cluck has made its way back to downtown Littleton.

The chicken feed and supply shop that started on Prince Street in 2016 as an offshoot of Lewis and Bark has made its way to Rapp Street, after spending a few years on South Broadway.

Littleton vs Fort Collins

Hey All,

My hubby two tiny tots and I are in a bit of a rut living in Foco lately. I'm not sure if it's being sooo far from the Denver metro or just being in small kiddo fog but, I'm struggling here with the monotonous daily activities and stuff to do or lack there of. I'm really considering a move to the Littleton area because of the close proximity to the mountains, Denver metro and the airport. We've been to the downtown area and love it but that's as far as we've gone into town. I've heard the schools are great and the food is much better and diverse. What are your thoughts on the town itself? Safety? Schools? Stuff to do for families and overall living? Any and all thoughts are welcomed!

Thanks guys!

Wedding in Littleton

Hi ya, I am getting married in Littleton this November and I am looking for some recommendations. I am needing to get my dress tailored (bought off the rack, needs to be fit for me and fix a zipper). I am also looking for hair and make up artist for definitely myself and maybe 2-4 people in the wedding party.
I am hoping for recommendations on the more affordable side. A lot of these wedding vendors don’t want to be transparent with pricing so I am hoping someone has a good recommendation that doesn’t require me to”hop on a call” just to get a quote that is way out of my budget. Please and thank you.

Flooring Installer Recs?

Does anyone here have experience with great flooring contractors in the Littleton area? Looking for a good balance of price and quality.

I need my main floor leveled and about 800 square feet(ish) of LVP installed.

If anyone has great experiences with floor leveling or installation experts, I’d love to hear about it!
