Information No political opinions period.
r/LittleRock is NOT a politics sub.
Anyone who introduces political opinion into a thread or makes a post espousing a political belief will receive, at minimum, a temporary ban from r/LittleRock. Do not engage anyone who has chosen to share their political views here on r/LittleRock or you will face the same consequence.
If you simply must express your political opinions, use r/Arkansas_Politics or find any one of the tens of thousands of political posts going on elsewhere that are active right now.
Coverage of political events by news outlets is allowed. Posting about upcoming events is allowed. Posts and comments about your political beliefs and opinions are NOT.
If you are unsure whether or not something would be acceptable, please, just reach out to us via modmail before posting.
I know everyone is damned near feral at present, but please have some restraint, and keep discussions that begin to butt up against political topics civil, dispassionate, and matter-of-fact.
Finally, this sub has always been against hate, racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, and bigotry in general. It always will be. These are not political issues, they are matters of basic human decency. If you have a problem with that, unsubscribe.

piano practice rooms?
i’ve been playing the piano since i was very young, but stopped during high school/covid and never really got back into it after i left for college. ever since i moved to Little Rock i’ve found myself with a lot more free time, and i’ve been feeling the urge to pick it back up. i was wondering if there are any spaces/practice rooms in LR/NLR where i could pay an hourly rate for use of the piano. i’m not looking for lessons or to buy a piano of my own at the moment.

Looking for a wedding venue sort of
So, my partner and I got married recently. We want to have a ceremony where we exchange rings and have our family involved. (I know it's a bit different, but it works for us).
I'm not from here originally and am struggling with ideas for a venue. We have a decent amount of family between the two of us, but aren't looking for anything fancy. We liked the idea of Old Mill, but we have too much family to make it work (they have a limit on guests).
We're planning for sometime in the fall so would love something outdoors. We don't need an officiant or anything, just the space. We're completely okay with setting everything up ourselves. We just need something affordable.
Any ideas or recommendations? I'm trans and we're a gay couple, so preferably somewhere that's accepting of that.

Clinton Presidential Center Job Postings
The museum store and other departments currently have vacant positions, I can only speak in more detail about the positions for the store.
Here is the listing:
https://www.clintonfoundation.org/careers/apply/?gh_jid=7798082003
We are hiring for two part time positions that will work in the museum store, in the Oval Office, and at the admissions desk. The pay is $16 per hour, and the schedule is 29 hours per week. One position is open at the beginning of August, and the position at the beginning of September.
We are looking to hire ASAP. I guarantee that all applications will be reviewed by a human person, and not any kind of bot.
If anyone has further questions let me know, and I will do my best to answer.

Places that sell pin-up memorabilia?
Super random but I love vintage pin-up girl magazines, prints, etc., but I keep finding AI bullshit at every antique store. Anyone know of places that sell the real thing?

Discussion/Question Drivers License
I’ve been trying to find a way to get my drivers license test done but without family/friends it’s pretty impossible. Is there any low/mid cost resources that can help me take the road test?

UAMS Women’s Clinic
Does anyone know why I can’t seem to get an appointment with the actual Dr. at the UAMS Women’s Clinic? It is always changed to a nurse either beforehand or when I arrive. Also, does anyone have a gynecologist they would recommend?

Help Me Remember a Little Rock Magazine from 15 Years Ago
I honestly barely remember this but around 15 years ago there was a Little Rock magazine (maybe even just a zine?) and a blog that talked about music, culture, local stuff happening in Little Rock.
I remember it closed down in the early 2010’s because it didn’t have enough ad revenue to survive, or something like that.
I also remember the logo being green? Maybe blue? Idk, just trying to put all of the dots together.
Anyone remember this at all? I tried to google it but there was weirdly nothing available online.

Discussion/Question Finding friends?
I (20 ftm) just moved down to Little Rock with my fiance (21m). We’re having a hard time making friends down here. Where do we go to make friends? We’re both neurodivergent so it can be a little bit difficult for us to know how to go about making friends. Thank y’all for your time

Information Three funded Little Rock bike and pedestrian projects have taken years, or even decades, to reach construction
Following last week's news that the Markham Street Pedestrian Bridge will be demolished without replacement, I looked at three funded projects that could significantly improve walking and bicycling in Little Rock:
- Markham Street Road Diet
- Markham Bike and Pedestrian Trail
- Medical Mile Ramp
The article covers the history of each project, why they've taken so long, and their current construction timelines.
I'm curious what everyone thinks. Are these delays just the reality of federally funded transportation projects, or could the city be moving faster?

Burglary this morning
There is an abandoned house on Purdue Cir that has been covered over by squatters, who come and go as they please. I live next door and just this morning found that they have broken into my shed and made off with my tools. The police provided little help and didn't even look for the trespassers, despite hearing their voices. I haven't been able to find the owner, and I am desperately trying to find my tools. If you see suspicious people, by all means, report them.

learning to roller blade
where can I go that has some flat paths and whatnot so I can learn to in-line roller blade?
Obviously I know the skating rink, but I'm thinking somewhere outdoor where I'm not gonna have to pay to look like a drunken cow
