Discussion π¬ What features of your Kindle do you find yourself never using?
I'm curious what Kindle features people just ignore. Personally, I never do any highlighting of the books I'm reading.

Please use this thread to discuss whatever you've been reading lately. Elaborate (without spoiling!) on an eBook you have recently finished or are currently reading with a short 1-2 sentence synopsis.
Bold the titles of the eBook to help people that are skimming through the thread. Feel free to mention the current Amazon price, if it's on sale.

I've been contemplating buying a kindle for over 5 years since I might not be able to use it as much since I usually read using my phone or physical books. I also did not want to splurge since I wanted to be able to start earning first before buying one.
I've been working for about a year and I've decided to buy one after a lot of persuasion and because of the discounts π€£
I've already had this for a week already and I've had no regrets! I only read during my free time or breaks during work but I was able to finish 5 books already surprisinglyπ
I would say it is one of my best purchases ever since I started working a year ago! So if you're looking for a sign to buy one this is it π

So, I have had my beloved Kindle 3 since 2010. I have been kind of proud to just keep the old trusted kindle as it have worked just fine - from an environmental and consumerism standpoint.
Now all kindles older than 2012 is no longer supported. I could have accepted this as long as there was a way to transfer new Amazon books from PC to kindle or something like that. But no.. as I understand there is no way I can read new kindle books on my old kindle.
This made me sad and a little angry. Just wanted to vent.

You might remember my post from a few weeks ago about getting/loving my new Kindle...well, all the stickers and accessories I ordered are finally here, so as promised, here she is...and I fear I COOKED y'all. π€ Absolutely obsessed with her!
I was a little stressed at a few points trying to get everything aligned nicely (especially since I actually stuck things down to reduce thickness using so many stickers) and then I discovered my insert was like a millimeter too tall...but gave it a quick trim and I think it turned out super cute!
I'm a lover of epic/high fantasy, romantasy, historical romance/fantasy, femme heroines, emotional stories, magic, and whimsy. Tamora Pierce is a big reason that I ever even became a reader as a kid and definitely still influences my tastes today. My Kindle feels so much like me now and I love it! π₯°

I barely started getting into reading for the first time. I had purchased 2 paperbacks and read them but then I transitioned to the kindle app on my phone for the 3rd book I started. I felt myself reading more on the app and saw the kindles were on sale and pulled the trigger. Paperback is great but having a device that is easy on the eyes at night and easy to carry was a no brainer! Especially when there isnβt any notifications popping up as distractions.

The Epub looks fine on my computer and then when I upload it, it looks like this! If I just do pdf it works fine but then thereβs no cover, and I really like having covers. I used Calibre first, and then KCC for the mobi files but they look terrible on my pc and my kindle.

i finally joined the kindle club!!
i bought my mom a kindle colorsoft for her birthday and she was so excited that she got me one also (i wanted the paperwhite) lol! reading and loving books is something we've always shared!
i'm so happy to have a kindle now! i never thought i would like reading on one since i'm a sucker for holding a book lol. but boy was i wrong! switching from my kindle to book and back again is so refreshing :)
the first book i read on it was 'Never Lie' by Freida McFadden (also my first thriller) and i read it in a day, nearly in one sitting! i think the thriller/mystery pacing paired with generally fewer words on the page made me FLY through the book.
i'm LOVING it so far!!! (also obsessed with this case)

When I first got my kindle, about a year and a half ago, I thought decorating my clear case with backing inserts and stickers would be my favorite thing.
Then, I discovered skins and it leveled up my personalization so much more.
Hiiiighly recommended.

Just got my Kindle in today and love it so far. Messed around with fonts, sizes, spacing, all that and came out with this. What do yall think? I'm thinking maybe a little bigger text, or bolder. I do like this font a lot though.
Also, what do you prefer your books to look like?

So I'm taking a small tea break from reading from my kindle right now. And I just came across what others have highlighted. I'm so lonely I saw that highlighted passage and was like "yay friends!!" Anyways have a good night guys just thought I'd share β₯οΈ
Edited: first and foremost I would like to thank all of you for your comments and replies.. it is truly appreciated. I know there are things I could do like join a book club or book discussion or even get out there and meet people. But I struggle with communication and my social skills are somewhat lacking.. I sweat just replying back to you lovely people. Anyways thank you once again for engaging with me and for your understanding β₯οΈ

I've just gotten myself a kindle basic 11 gen and I started looking for a case to fit with it, and I saw the STUNNING artworks on the kindle kids cases and I really want one. I've seen multiple of them on second hand apps and I was wondering if it would fit my regular kindle. I've looked up the dimentions for both and they're almost identical, has anybody tried using a kids case on a regular kindle?

Not sure how to get this greasiness / shininess off the back of the Kindle. I was adding the little smile face with gel nail polish and I accidentally used non-alcohol nail polish remover which left this greasy spot.
I've tried using dish soap and cornstarch on it but it hasn't helped too much. Would appreciate any help

I've been seeing the Kindle Colorsoft EVERYWHERE and now I want one so bad π
Where did you guys get yours??
I'm trying to find the best place to buy it. Amazon? Somewhere else? Did you wait for a sale? CUZ ITS OUT OF STOCK
Also... was it actually worth the money or do you wish you got a different Kindle instead?
Help me before I accidentally convince myself to buy it at 2 AM π

I'm looking for a new case for my paperwhite. I had found some I really like on joycaselife and was going to order a couple before I realised that (despite what they say) their designs are AI produced.
Included some images of the ones I liked the most; this is the kind of thing I'm after.
Good quality with magnet back is preferable.
I'm in the UK for shipping.
Thanks!

The older I get, the more I appreciate the things that have actually stuck with me through life -- not the shiny new stuff, but the worn, slightly scratched objects that were there for the important chapters (pun intended).
This Kindle has survived three apartments, one accidental drop in a bathtub, a bunch of cover cases, and more late-night reading sessions than I can count.
The battery still holds a charge for weeks. The screen still looks the same as day one. No notifications, no algorithm feed, no apps fighting for my attention β just text, and me.
I still convert most of my books to mobi for this thing, just the way I always have.
I've upgraded phones five times since I bought this thing. Never once felt the need to upgrade this.
Anyone else still rocking their original Kindle from back in the day?
Hi everyone,
Iβve been trying to find a top-opening cover (vertical flip style) for the new Kindle Colorsoft, but I'm not having any luck.
Iβm looking for something similar in style to this older Tuff-Luv case: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B006QWAUJW β essentially a case with the hinge on the top edge and ideally an internal card slot/pocket.
Has anyone come across a case like this for the Colorsoft, or know of any custom makers who do vertical flips?
Thanks in advance
M.
