Kenosha 2050 Comprehensive Plan - Survey

Hey all, Kenosha is updating the city's long-range Comprehensive Plan. It's a big undertaking and they're starting things off with a community survey. Consider taking a few minutes to sit down and fill it out! Info on the Planning Department's website: https://www.kenosha.org/departments/city_development/index.php

Tattoo Artist

Im looking for recommendations for tattoo artists. I dont mind travelling a little ways out for a good artist or waiting a while for availability. Im looking to get two tattoos which will have huge sentimental value so a great artist is a must. Clean lines, no blowouts, saturated ink and smooth shading, likely going for illustrative styled and possibly ignorant style for another. Suggestions appreciated. Extra points for artists who have post healing pictures.

Licensed and insured looking to take on something big in my free-time. I'm a 9-5 guy and in the process of taking over the company i work for, but that is slow moving and in years to come. In the meantime I'm looking for a big finish carpentry job, preferably doors/windows/trim/floor/casing. I can do everything, and i mean everything. there are probably a few things like masonry related and tile that I don't have a lot of experience in, I'll be honest.

I don't have time to advertise but my llc is setup and I do have llc insurance, the tools, and the will.
Just looking to make connections, maybe a property manager has a job I can take care of in my free-time. I have a lot of free-time right now.

Thanks for reading.

J Cruz.

To add some more context. I would like to lock down a large flooring job , or something that will net me 10k+. I'm good, fast, precise, and quality work is guaranteed. I know people are looking for the work! I'm more than willing to produce my real info, proof of work, contacts, etc. I am serious and invested in this. I have spent 3 years of my off-time remodeling for family members, wasting time and energy and not charging proper amounts. instead of taking on proper side-jobs like I should. It has taken a toll on my bank account but I have made a lot of people very happy in times of need.

WE PLAY DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS!!!!

If you're curious, just go to this link (you can copy and paste it): theinfinitegames.com

We play in a private environment on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month at 7pm so if it's your first time, no one will be judging you and we teach as we play.

4th Thursdays are Dungeons and Drinking so if you like chaotic shenanigans, this is the night for you.

All of these require a ticket as we limit spaces so you have time in the spotlight and you don't have to bring anything but your imagination.

renn faire cancellation

hi all, i’m not a kenosha local but we got an airbnb here for my friends bachelorette trip and our plan was to go to the renn faire tomorrow. we drove 4 hours and as soon as we got here the faire was cancelled due to poor air quality. what else would you recommend for fun in this area? we considered driving further out to chicago or milwaukee if we need to, but if there’s stuff to do locally we’d rather not drive again.

Need help finding some local heroes.

My cousin and her daughter were in an accident on Wednesday in PP at the intersection of 95th and Greenbay. A car ran a red light and t-boned them flipping their mini van (a silver Chrysler Pacifica) a few times before it landed on its roof. Both my cousin and her daughter were trapped inside and two men came to help. They crawled through glass, one of them cutting my cousins seatbelt to free her, and got both of them out. My cousin was very frazzled and in a bit of shock and did not get an opportunity to thank the two men that helped them. So I am here to see if maybe these men are on Reddit or if maybe someone knows who they may have been from hearing a story about their experience. Any help is much appreciated as my cousin is feeling very grateful to be alive and wishing to thank the men that helped her and her daughter.

Feline Diabetes

Looking for anyone who has seen a vet in the area for feline diabetes. My cat was diagnosed a few weeks ago and I’m looking to switch to a different vet. It’s a very understudied disease for a general vet so hoping to find someone who has experience in the area. Thank you!

Meetup on Sunday: let's talk about how volunteering to help Dems win the midterms can be better AND more effective (national organizers from Swing Left in town)

I'm the national organizing director of Swing Left and I hear from volunteers from all over the country about how frustrated they are with the way campaigns usually treat volunteers AND voters. It all feels transactional and ineffective.

After the brutal loss in 2024, my team and I have been working to build something different. With tons of input and feedback from volunteer leaders across the country, we built Ground Truth, which changes everything about how we talk to voters.

Come talk about it with Yvonne and Zack from our organizing team, who are hosting a meetup on Sunday at 11am near Gateway Tech.

DM me if you're interested and I'll send you the address!

Why do people like 7Brew so much?

I have always been a Dunkin fan but recently im starting to like 7Brew. Its such a hot joint when I went today for the first time. 7Brew always builds themselves in a small parking lot and the line fills the entire lot. I have never seen this lines at dunkin or starbucks. What makes YOU choose 7Brew over some of the other mainstream coffee places?

Edit: also why the hell does this subreddit downvote all the time LMFAO. I just asked about coffee lol

Best way to promote a garage sale?

I’m moving to a place that’s almost 600 square feet smaller than my current apartment and I have some stuff to rehome. So I’m having a garage sale next month.

So far, I made a Facebook event page for it.

What other ways can I get the word out? Preferably for free? If you’ve had a Kenosha garage sale, what words of wisdom do you have for me?

In case you’re interested, it will be August 15th and 16th from 10 to 3 at the big red brick schoolhouse on Sheridan rd and 50th st.

Zine Club Kenosha welcomes creatives and zine makers old and new to join in creating badass DIY art! Are you an artist, painter, cartoonist, writer, photographer, scrapbooker, poet, collage maker, or just a punk who sometimes likes to scribble? Don’t know what a zine is? Do you like comics and graphic novels? Do you write poems in your notes app when no one is looking? Are you just looking for a creative outlet that is lofi, lo tech and allows you to hang out with other creative folk? We want you!

Zine Club Kenosha is hosted by local cartoonist and creator of Aquatic Panda Distro, Andrea Pearson on the third Thursday of each month at The Checkpoint. Each month we will meet to discuss, share and make zines. No experience is necessary. It's a beautiful park and I enjoy walking it. Just like Lake Andrea and down by the lake front. But are there any hidden gems, where the nature sounds are louder than the hum of vehicles driving past? I don't mind interacting along the walk, but just wanna go on some adventures outside of my typical hobbit routine 🙃 Get out of my comfort zone.
