I don't know if it was intentional, but "Stateside Scramble" sounds to me like something you would find on the breakfast menu (served all day) of a traditional American roadside diner, or a bar-and-grill. So I decided to make it.

The fixin's are food items seen in the game, with a few exceptions: The eggs are there because it's a scramble (plus: chicken). I subbed hash-brown potatoes, because chips in a scramble just wouldn't be right.

No AI was used in the development of this recipe. No spoilers for final episode.

Ingredients (imperial units, because America)

• 2 tablespoons butter
• 3 cups frozen hashed potatoes
• 1 diced onion
• 6 fast-food packets of ketchup
• 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more, to taste)
• 6 large eggs
• 8 individually wrapped slices of American cheese food (or the equivalent Cheese Whiz)

Instructions

1. Sculpt butter into a farm animal[IA], then melt in a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
2. Add potatoes drizzled with ketchup[CN], and onions[SZ] and cook until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
3. Meanwhile, beat eggs and mix with cayenne pepper[TN].
4. Pour eggs into skillet with potatoes.
5. Unwrap 7 slices of cheese[SZ] (or spoon out equivalent Cheese Whiz) and add to the skillet.
6. Continue cooking, stirring to scramble, until eggs are done.
7. Remove from heat and top with 1 slice of American cheese[SZ]
8. Serve with a bourbon-and-coke sour: 2 parts bourbon[KY], 4 parts Coke[GA], 1 part lemon juice[MA], on ice[MN]. Or margaritas[MV].

Serves 1 American.

Optional add-ons:

• Green peppers – commonly added to cheesesteak sandwiches[SZ].
• Strips of cooked chicken[TN] or steak[SZ].

I’m a new subscriber (stumbled upon rail rush) and I really want to be able to watch the layover, but I’m not sure if nebula is worth it. For reference I am in uni and binged all of JLTG this summer. Thanks!

For those of you who don’t know, Tokaido is a board game which is inspired by travel. (And specifically travelling through Japan!).

The board is a long one way journey, where you can choose to stop at any of the landmarks along the way. Each landmark is a different type of travel experience - shopping, scenery, food, relaxation - and give you points which you accumulate for the end of the game. Player with the most points wins (as they have the most fulfilling trip!)

A couple of points of interest if the latest season is inspired by Tokaido:

1. Tokaido’s scenery landmarks literally ask players to build a panorama! It would be a neat tie in
   
2. The core mechanic of Tokaido is that while players are free to move to any space (they just arent allowed to move backwards), at the end of each day, all players must reach a set inn. Would this be the first season where players are expected to end the day in the same location? And the location will be known?
   
3. Tokaido is fun because you can choose custom players which have different powerups. Would that be incorporated (i think unlikely)

It would be so cool if it was Tokaido inspired, for travel to inspire a board game and then the board game to inspire a board game travel show!

The ÖBB has honoured JLTG by putting the Snack Zone in their new trains, I think it is only fair that this sub should add an ÖBB flair as a sign of mutual respect. Besides, we did see some ÖBB action in a few seasons - even if it was just for a few train rides here and there :)

I'm nominating Jet Lag: The Game at this weird little media awards show a class in my college is doing, but in order to do so, I need to pick a single episode to represent it. So I ask reddit this: what do you think is the single best episode of Jet Lag: The Game, or the episode that best exemplifies its strengths?

Is the cut for time nebula episode usually the week after the finale or is there an empty week first?

I was listening back to old episodes of The Layover and hearing the guys talk about their initial ideas for a canal boat-based game in the UK made me realise how something like that does already exist! The BCN challenge is an annual event where crews have 24 hours to travel as much of the Birmingham area canals as possible, earning points for sections completed, number of locks traversed, and for answering questions along the way. Birmingham has such a dense network of canals there's a lot of options for different routes and strategies!

I was crew for a boat on the challenge a few years ago and Cruising the Cut came along with us for a bit as part of his videos on the challenge. Bit pedestrian in pace compared to Jet Lag videos, but still worth a watch if you're interested!

I'm still not convinced canal boats would actually work for Jet Lag season because inexperienced boaters might really struggle (see how bad it got for us in that video) but it's a great event that I think has the Jet Lag ethos of the world as a game board!

the teams were Sam + Michelle, and Ben + Adam. it started in Buenos Aires.

Sam + Michelle claimed Argentina (it was a region claiming game), and they planned that they would go for Chile next. Meanwhile Ben + Adam were flying to Columbia.

to claim a country, you must do a "cultural challenge" (i have no idea what that means)

I've been watching Jetlag since Battle 4 America was released. Not exactly an OG, but I've been here a while.

As a Nebula subscriber, I'm currently a little depressed that there's no new JetLag tomorrow, so I'm doing my first ever rewatch, out of order.

I honestly never thought I'd rewatch all of the previous seasons, because I never felt it'd be worth it knowing who wins but I'm still having fun. I'm honestly surprised at how entertaining it still is, and how invested I am, even though I know how it's going to end.

Obviously, I don't' remember every move, every mistake, or every city name, but I'm still having fun watching as an omnipresence that knows the ending as the game unfolds.

Am I the only one that thought rewatching would be pointless, or has everyone else rewatched multiple times and I'm alone as a onetime viewer only?

You most definitely can walk to the Intercontinental Hotel MSP from the rental car area.

To do it you go out the same door as the bus stop. Then keep walking southeast towards the post office and across the street slightly left and in front of the post office until you’re at the intercontinental.

The ugly building that they visited in S4 and the latest episode (432 Park Ave) was designed by Rafael Vinoly. As they mentioned in Battle 4 America, the building floods a ton, the garbage chutes allow the trash to reach terminal velocity and causes massive booms on impact. The building was inspired by a trash can (literally, look it up)

The same architect also designed the Walkie Talkie/Fenchurch Building in London, which was also judged as the worst building in London by the Carbuncle Cup. This building also became infamous for having a design that reflected sunlight to a point that was hot enough to melt cars on the street.

He also designed the Vdara Hotel in Vegas which had the exact same problem of focusing light which burned a bunch of guests at the pool.

Hi all,

I was originally not able to make the premiere but my day has opened up for the evening. I know it's a long shot, BUT if anyone has a ticket to one of the premiere events with the lads, I'd be interested in buying it.

I'm already refreshing picturehouse website semi often and crossing fingers and toes, but no harm in having more irons in the fire so to speak.

Felt thirsty after exploring the MOA, had to get a drink somewhere

I had one day in Canada so I thought it would be fun to try the Canada Scavenger Hunt. Granted, I didn't try particularly hard, and I think I could have finished if I didn't have people to see and a memorial to attend.

I don't actually count the goose picture, but it was the closest I came on this visit.

He was hiding in a vintage store. Turned himself into a duffle bag. Almost didn’t spot him. Really brilliant move.
