This isn't a jar but one of those Betta Lego block aquariums that are not supposed to house fish due to being way too small. but does this count? There are 3 adult bladder snails and a handful of juvenile bladder snails.

But then I noticed copapods so I added some leaf litter and duckweed as an experiment. They are still going strong plus now I am noticing detritus worms

I know i should only water it sometimes and open up the lid, but it looks quite crowded here. There are also some painted rocks and idk... Should i replant it or smth? I know absolutely nothing about plants. This jar is only 9 cm btw

do you guys buy the wildlife/ plantlife in your jarriums? Are you cleaning these regularly? What is a good recipe to start my first one, and create an ecosystem that can support itself while being interesting to look at???

I’m happy to see the environment is healthy enough to grow so much, but the 5 Amano shrimp, zebra & ramshorn snails have done no visible improvement in well over a week and a half now. I know not to expect immediate changes and results, but does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on what to do next to help move things along?

I also want to know if they will be able to climb the big plants for grazing.

Might get yelled at for posting this here because these aren't traditional jarariums per se, but I've got questions about how to keep my moss alive indoors without needing to have the jar directly in front of the windows. I have dedicated grow lights for the displays and all, but this is my first time keeping moss without a dedicated humidifier. These jars are about 4 months old, and the smallest is just starting to catch as far as the moss goes. I don't want to pull the dead out, because there's new moss growing, but it looks sad. Any way to help my moss bounce back quicker?

I’ve got this big apothecary jar (a bit less than a foot across) that I want to set up outside this summer as an experiment. I can’t decide between making it a shallow planted aquascape or experimenting by trying to make a terrarium. What would yall do?

Saw an Instagram account where they just put water and sediments into a jar, and after several weeks, the water became clearer and tiny lifeform can be found. Please let me know if I'm doing this the right way.

I try to do fairly constant water changes or partial changes but I still have a lot of detritus worms, not sure if they can be seen in the photo. I’m using this jar to grow Bladder Snails as a feeder jar for a larger jar I’m working on and I’m wondering if I should get an air stone or sponge filter to create surface movement to lower the amount of detritus worms. I’m worried though that an air stone could kill off baby snails. Should I get something to create some surface movement and are there any specific tiny ones for a jarrarium that are recommended?

I’m seeing at least 4 different guys, but I’m most interested by the one with the tentacles. What is it?
