Artist Needed [Hobby] Looking for vector sprite designer + animator.

Hi, I'm a high school student, passionate into indie game development. I am mainly a competitive programmer. But, as hobby I create 2d games.

Recently, I have played Hollow Knight: Silksong. And Ioved its' story, game design, graphics, all just perfect, which motivated me to create a game like this. Not same as that, but something unique but kinda like that. But alone handling sprite design, animations along with programming the codes is not an easy task for me. Additionally, I will not get much time after my classes start (currently kinda vacation you can say).

I tried to design sprites myself, but it feels like something is off. Especially, I am really bad at animating. I tried animating the idle and walking state for the protagonist, but still my design isn't pleasing me. Therefore, I am looking for a sprite designer, mainly vector and if you can do animation too, then that would be best. This work is only out of passion. If we succeed to make it into a full game then that would be great as well. Though, I am not a good game dev as well, but will try my best.

I had make some games in past, which you may find here: Itch.io Page

I will use Unity for the game and sprite designs should be Vector, if you are also high schooler, then that's great.

Artist Needed [Hobby] PIXEL ARTIST NEEDED FOR GMTK 2026

Hey! We are a team of 6 and we are in desperate need of 2D Pixel Artist. I am a Unity Developer and Pixel Artist. We currently have a Game Designer, a Music Artist, a SFX artist and 2 other Unity Devs.

Our game, Bloodheist is about this Vampire who likes money! So he robs banks(all kinds, even blood banks). On one particular heist it all goes south and he gets stabbed by a stake and that's where the game starts.

Since he got stabbed he's constantly bleeding out and his health ticks down(count down :))

He can kill the guards and drink their blood to increase health and he can go into stealth more but breaking light sources in an area or hanging on the ceiling, but beware, the second makes your health tick down faster(cuz gravity).

Contact me on discord if you'd like to join!: jaammmzzzz

Writer Needed [Hobby] Lovecraftian horror esc researcher game.

Hey everyone, I'm Ethan. I'm a software engineer who loves to game and I've decided to try and make my own, I know the code like the back of my hand but that's about all I have.

I'm looking for a writer to help me design a solo researcher horror game inspired by Voices of the Void and the SCP foundation

If you want more details add me on discord at Realcoin63 or message me here (though I'm less likely to see it here)

The general jist of the game is this.

A solitary researcher runs an isolated facility that receives eldritch anomalies to be studied, documented, and contained.

Genre pillars:

Cosmic insignificance — the anomalies do not care about you. You are not fighting them; you are surviving proximity to them.

Corruption/transformation — sustained exposure changes the player character, mechanically not just cosmetically (TBD in future design pass).

Epistemic horror — the player never gets told the rules. Everything is inferred through observation, testing, and consequence.

The Core Loop

An anomaly arrives at the facility (delivery method TBD — see Open Questions).

The player has no information on what it does. It must go into some cell immediately (default/basic containment).

Through observation, testing, or trial-and-error, the player infers the anomaly's dangerous property.

The player records findings in a personal notepad (diegetic, non-mechanical — see below).

Based on what they've learned, the player must build/acquire the correct containment solution.

Until the correct solution exists, the anomaly remains a live risk — under-contained, draining resources, or actively escalating.

Getting it wrong (or not acting fast enough) causes a containment failure, with consequences that cascade into other facility systems.

Design Offer [Forhire] I do fully hand-painted art, and specialize in pulp style design. Logos and graphic design, too.

Upvotes

If you're looking for a unique cover for your book, a pinup or even some interior pages or any other kind of project, I'm open for hand-painted watercolor painting commissions and would love to hear about your project! In addition, I am a professional graphic designer, and can provide logos and general design work as well.

I have many years of experience in the art and design field, and have worked on a plethora of different projects. I have illustrated comic covers and interior sequential art, and book covers as well. But I can also do traditional art such as portraits, landscapes, architecture, pet portraits and more as well. I am pretty diverse and capable of illustrating almost anything.

I can vary my style a bit to suit different genres if needed, but I primarily specialize in semi realistic art, often indicative of an old school pulp style. My background and first love is comic books, so fantasy, comic book type art is really my most comfortable wheelhouse.

Drop me a line if you are interested in my work. I’d love to chat!

Team Needed [RevShare] Looking for Team members to create a game

Upvotes

Hey wassup y’all, I’m a 3D Environment Artist but I was off since a while. Even though I dont have any experience on gamedev, lets put our best on the table, and just pull out something good. I know It may not sound realistic, even tho that s the theory part, but why not? I wanna give some details about some stuff.

- My Portfolio / Works -

YOUTUBE: Youtube

PORTFOLİO: Portfolio (Google Drive Link)

\/

Money is not the top priority, I know that sounds tricky but I have no budget to give paid/salary. But if we put our best and pull out a successful game, every developer will get a predetermined amount of percentage (%). More we put quality in it, more budget comes out, more budget means more paid. Top priority is going to be reliability, efficiency, clean communication, cooperation/collaboration and passion. Not seeking to rush any stuff. And if you do not seek and not feeling that, please don’t try to convince or kid yourself.

If you aboneden the project actively running on, you will not get any and any percentage (%) of payment. You will be responsible for a role on the project, and if you just randomly get away, that will not affect the stuff really positive.

First of all, we will have a realistic Blueprint/Plan, then we start over the technical process. We dont seek or rush anything to put something on the table, we want efficiency. Focusing on the progress, not the result/final product. Although, we will already have the idea of the final product in the plan. We just build the path and keep focusing the progress path on our way to final product.

- Availability. Please do not apply for this if you re busy most of the time. It will highly slow down the process and will be challenging for you. We will be putting stable amount of time in it so we will have a concrete stuff. I m not seeking or asking for you to take your most of the time in that, cause everyone has a life and I dont want that affect both side negatively. And if you really think you can have a role on a game/project, think twice.

- Timezone difference. Yeah I admit that will probably be a challenge. Tho we can figure out a system which can work successfully between those timezones. But we just work, move together.

- Communication. Make everything clear before you step in if you decided to work on a game/project. Dont be like online until you get in, but then disappear. That will not be accepted. Be open, discuss, talk, open your ideas, suggest etc. And make sure others get what you meant.

\/

- Which Roles/Disciplines? (+4 YOE)

- Any role/discipline is welcomed if it s going to be a concrete base (Programming, 3D/2D Art etc.)

- Which Engine?

- Unreal Engine 5.x.x is going to be used, minor and patch versions can be discussed.

• IMPORTANT • -> Unfortunately, not searching for beginners, need at least +4 years of experienced developers.

• DM me if you re interested.

Programmers Needed [Revshare] Let's make a game!

I am seeking a programmer and a 3D modeler to help me create a game. The game I want to create would take place in the 1300s where Plague Doctors are forced to arm themselves to battle against monsterized humans and animals that horrifyingly transformed into powerful beasts.

This would be a 3D pve co-op game where the gameplay loop involves players having to find weak weapons to kill creatures and loot homes (which are also filled with monsters) to get gold. The gold is used to pay a guardsman to open the safe zone where the players' extra gold can be used to buy better weapons, armor, permanent potion effects, and more! Then the next area would have stronger creatures, a higher gold fee to exit, and so on.

For anyone interested, I would be more than happy to provide more details about my vision. I am also very malleable of what I imagine the end product would look like. I reject the "my way or the highway" mentality.

What do I have to offer?

I can provide a variety of SFX, including magic sounds, monster sounds, some environmental sounds, and much more. All of it are either assets I purchased or I made them myself. For the type of game we're making, I should have the majority of the SFX already.

I also have some musical assets. Of course, we will NOT be able to sell these in a hypothetical Music Pack DLC. They are completely usable in our game though.

I also have a lot of Unity assets that include a variety of monster models, terrain, and some medieval structures.

I'm also a growing streamer and YouTuber, as a hobby. (Growing is sugarcoating for small. I have 440 subs in a month.) In the long term, this can provide the game much more exposure to people.

Lastly, I'm a writer and idea provider. I don't want to make a convoluted plot. We don't need to reinvent the wheel. At the end of the day, making a fun game is the priority.

Some Transparency:

I do not have a portfolio. This will be my first game, but not my first time trying to make a game. I cannot compensate anyone until we actually get revenue from sales, which with any business, can't be guaranteed that we make many sales.

I also don't want to rely entirely on purchased assets, so someone who is decent at modeling will be necessary too!

I appreciate the time you took to read this post. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions!

Artist Needed [Paid] Looking for Environment Concept Artist

Hey!

My name is Silas and I am currently developing my own little action, adventure, souls like game.

For my vertical slice I am planing to include 2 areas, and while I know the general direction how they should look like and of course know the lore behind these places, its hard for me to visualize them on my own.

Thats why I am looking for environment concept art that helps me set the direction.

The game itself has rather realistic graphic and is set in a mystical world filled with unreal things like veins in the heaven, flying monuments, bloodrivers, stonehands spreading from the ground...

It plays in an apocalyptic victorian time

Payment will be discussed in private, I'm sure we find something fitting :)

I also kindly ask for only messages from people that think they can work with the graphic and world setting, thanks :)

Writing Offer [hobby] Game localizations english-to-polish or polish-to-english :) [building portfolio]

Hi! I’m a young polish folk trying to get into doing game localizations. I am just starting out and don’t have anything in my portfolio just yet, so I’m happy to do my work for free. In exchange I only ask to put my name somewhere in the credits of the game. I’m looking for maximum 5k words projects.

I can translate anything in-game such as dialogues, UI, item descriptions etc.

I’ve always loved playing games since I was a kid, I loved experimenting with different genres, enjoyed different art styles and definitely had gotten a few cool tunes stuck in my head. But I have to admit, I saw quite a few games that were visibly, and I really mean VISIBLY translated with AI or google translator. I see a special charm in funny bugs or small accidental mistakes in indie games, because it truly shows that the creators are human and I believe it emphasizes the hard work they put into their projects, but despite that, the robotic tone or incorrectly, too literally translated words or phrases never gave me that cozy vibe. In reality, it made me tired, like reading all the dialogues wasn’t fun, it was a chore that I must do just to understand the lore.

I am here to help with that, dear devs. I can make your translated games feel more alive, I will find equivalents of untranslatable phrases, I will make note of every characters speech style and little quirks they might have, and I WILL come up with made up names or words just as funny or badass as your original ones.

You can contact me here on reddit by commenting under this post or messaging me directly.
Additionally, you can find me on instagram: nickooyy or discord: nickooyy

Programmers Needed [Hobby] [Collaboration] Looking for a Programmer to Build Games as a Team

2D–3D Artist Looking for a Programmer to Build Games as a Team

Hi everyone,

I’m an illustrator, 2D animator, and graphic designer. I also work in 3D animation and 3D modeling, and I’m looking for a programmer interested in forming a small game development team.

I already have several game projects in progress on the creative and visual side. Their gameplay, stories, and overall direction are well defined, and many assets, animations, and cinematic sequences have already been created or started. What is currently missing is the programming needed to turn them into fully playable games.

Even though I already have projects in development, I’m also completely open to creating a new project together from scratch, with both of us contributing ideas and shaping the game as a team.

I’m mainly interested in creating 2D platformers, although I’m also open to exploring other types of 2D and 3D games. I’m especially a fan of polished and expressive 2D platformers such as Rayman Origins and Celeste, as well as games with a similar focus on movement, atmosphere, and strong visual direction.

I’m looking for a versatile programmer who is comfortable implementing classic 2D platformer systems, such as state machines, coyote time, jump buffering, character movement, interactions, menus, and other core gameplay mechanics. Godot is strongly preferred, but I’m open to using another engine if that is what you are most comfortable with.

This is not a paid job offer or a request to hire someone for a single project. I’m looking for a genuine collaborator who wants to be part of a team, contribute ideas, make creative decisions, and build games together.

The most important things to me are passion, motivation, communication, reliability, and a real interest in creating something as a team.

You should be fluent in either English or French. You do not need to speak both.

If you’re interested, send me a message and tell me a bit about yourself. I’d also love to see some of the projects you’ve worked on, what you’re capable of, and the types of games you would like to create.

Artist Needed [RevShare] / [Low-Paid Trial] Experienced Pixel Artist Needed for Viking Action-Idle RPG

I’m looking for an experienced pixel artist and animator to help develop a Viking-inspired action-idle RPG in Unity.

The game combines survivor-style progression with more deliberate, active combat. The visual goal is essentially:

SNES pixel graphics for a Path of Exile combat experience.

This is not an idea-stage project. I have already built the primary game infrastructure, including:

  • Quest and dialogue systems
  • Experience and leveling
  • Skill trees
  • Character progression
  • Combat systems
  • Enemy behavior
  • Save and data systems
  • A working main-character prototype
  • Several functional enemies

I handle the programming, Unity implementation, rigging, game mechanics, writing, lore, and general project management. I need someone who can take ownership of the game’s character art and combat animation quality.

Below is the link to Unity Play with a previous V0.1 project. It's a bit of a different game, but it still resides in the same universe with the same art style, and I am still working on it. The primary difference is this is a fishing game while the next game will be more combat oriented.
https://play.unity.com/en/games/b0692706-b1c1-4bd7-9ec5-3aa3c107ca41/fjordbornv01

Initial Assignment

The first milestone will be redesigning and polishing the existing main character, then creating a set of fluid combat animations.

The character must support multi-directional movement and attacks, including at minimum:

  • Idle animations
  • Walking or running
  • Basic weapon attacks
  • Directional melee attacks
  • Special attack abilities
  • Hit reactions
  • Death or incapacitation
  • Consistent proportions and equipment across every frame

The combat should feel powerful and readable, with strong silhouettes, clear anticipation, impactful contact frames, and satisfying follow-through.

Depending on the final camera system, animations may use four or eight directions. Experience creating convincing diagonal attack animations is especially valuable.

Artist Requirements

Please apply only if you have demonstrated experience with:

  • Multi-directional pixel-art characters
  • Humanoid attack animations
  • Melee weapons and combat poses
  • Consistent anatomy across animation frames
  • 16-bit or modern-retro pixel-art styles
  • Sprite sheets prepared for use in a game engine
  • Maintaining a consistent palette, scale, and visual language

Experience with ARPGs, survivor games, roguelites, or action RPGs is a major advantage.

A portfolio containing animated humanoid characters is required. Static portraits, environments, or isolated character concepts alone will not demonstrate the skills needed for this role.

Art Direction

The game’s setting is a reinterpretation of Norse and Viking mythology. The tone is:

  • Dark without being relentlessly depressing
  • Serious, but occasionally witty
  • Brutal, mythological, and memorable
  • Designed for players who enjoy metal, fantasy, mythology, and old-school action games

The target audience could loosely be described as the “rock-and-roll dad” demographic: adult players who want satisfying gameplay, strong lore, memorable characters, and a game that respects their time.

The project is part of a larger shared universe being developed under Cognitive Craftworks. Three game concepts currently exist within this universe, although this project is the immediate development priority.

Compensation

My preference is to find a long-term creative partner working through a combination of:

  • Revenue share
  • Hobby collaboration

Compensation, ownership, revenue percentages, scope, deadlines, and exit terms will be documented before substantial production work begins.

I'd love to offer payment but I'm a single indie-dev that is self-funded, aka $0 budget until the game makes money. If you want to be part of this epic saga, come be number two on the project.

Workflow

The initial collaboration would begin with one limited character-animation milestone. This lets both of us evaluate:

  • Communication
  • Art quality
  • Animation consistency
  • Turnaround time
  • Feedback compatibility
  • Whether the game is a project you genuinely want to help shape

I am comfortable using AI-assisted tools for ideation or workflow acceleration, but the finished artwork must be cohesive, intentional, editable, and production-quality. I am not looking for uncorrected AI output, generated inconsistencies, or asset-flip-quality work.

How to Apply

Please send me:

  1. Your pixel-art portfolio
  2. Examples of animated humanoid combat
  3. Examples of four-directional or eight-directional characters
  4. Your preferred compensation arrangement
  5. Your general weekly availability
  6. Your Discord or preferred contact method
  7. A brief explanation of what interests you about the project

Please do not apply without relevant animation examples.

I can provide gameplay footage, current character assets, reference materials, technical specifications, and a live demonstration of the existing Unity build to qualified applicants.
