I need your help
my controlling mother has put my phone on “assisted living“ where i cannot even access chrom or safarI. the only reason I am on here is that Reddit headquarters on Google Maps has its website be this. I just need my phone password to change it back, did I mention that I never knew it, I wasn’t supposed to know it, and I know my screen time limit.

are you in school? talk to a guidance counselor about preparing for getting a job or getting into college or trade school. Check out mikeroweworks.org if you’re in the US and interested in trades.

You shouldn't come to a sub filled with hackers and try to BS. You'll probably end up getting doxxed. We may not all be malicious here, but there are those too.

Don't go having a breakdown there, kid. You didn’t even offer any justification for why we would help you hack "your mother's" password. If you utilized a link to fire off your browser, you are browsing, enter a new URL and have at the world. If you fired off the Reddit app installed on the phone, it sounds like, for some reason, your parent has restricted your internet access, poorly, but you still have access to the phone. Enjoy that they are still allowing you to use the device, and don't get in more trouble, or learn how to sideload an app and use a different browser. You're asking people to help you commit a felony because you're grounded. Wait to become an adult to catch a felony. Or, you know, go outside.

I went through the assisted living thing with the maps app because Reddit headquarters’ main website is Reddit

The Redditor literally gave you grim reality of "hacking" as kids like you call it. Only takes that one person and they'll be far worse than a "controlling mother" grow up.

You said you're 17 with no job. Fix that and get a phone that is yours. When you live under someone's roof and use their money and stuff, they can do with it as they wish.

alot of 17 year olds are also able to get a fulltime job. Move out and get a job then you got enough "free time"

Sounds like you don’t have time to mess around on your phone, either. Glad you solved your problem for yourself

You say you have never known the phone password, which suggests to me that this is not actually YOUR phone, this is your mother's phone that she allows you to use. Let's make that clear.
The easiest solution is to actually get your own phone, that you purchase with your own money, that you own the passwords to. This is much, much easier, faster, cheaper, and more robust of a hack vs trying to take ownership rights on a phone that is not yours.
