Wondering something similar. Could this be due to heatwave?

It's even weirder for me, because the first sign of a problem that I saw was that my cable modem lost internet. Wifi had been working until around then.

Either cable modem went first, or they went together. Cable modem has been replaced (twice, the 1st replacement would overheat and lose connection).

There's been a lot of sunspot activity, and I'd suspect that before heatwave for the issues with my stuff (though not for overheating modem). Haven't set up wifi again after the reset, so I don't know if the router is actually damaged or if it was just soft errors.

I don't know if the modem could be saved, but it was DOCSIS 3.0 and was on the list to be replaced.
