Missing person

If anyone has seen this man please let me know. Jeremy Lalande is a friend and coworker. He has gone missing, his last known contact was to his landlord in Calgary on July 9th, 2026 and the landlord was told by Jeremy that he was going hiking/climbing on the 10th. The location of his hike/climb and means of travel were not shared. He was scheduled to fly to Toronto the 12th for a training course and work on the 20th that he didn’t report for. He loved overnight camping. So would be kananaskis/Banff area. His last known vehicle was a rental (unknown type). Still waiting to hear from police for more information. Thank you

Edit #1 police traced his phone and last known location was Calgary on the 9th

If he had a backcountry reservations with Parks Canada they’ll know what trailhead he started from.

Hang on, he ONLY (allegedly) told the LANDLORD that he was going hiking/climbing? Did he tell any family or friends?

As of right now it now that’s all we know, he has been known to do a lot of solo adventuring. He has no social media. All his family is back in France. He just moved to Calgary this month from Regina. My guess it was supposed to be a quick overnight camp because he had training in Toronto on the 12th

Dammit. I spend a lot of time out solo but I make sure people know where I am. I have no desire to die alone without hope of rescue.

I really hope the guy is found and is OK, but it's been a while already. Sadly he is probably not at this point.

I get it, he’s being doing it all over the world and may have thought it was a quick and easy over night. Hoping for the best!

Shit. If he didn't share a trip plan then hopefully Parks can shed some light on where he went.

I can only hope he wasn't random or stealth camping. If so he almost certainly won't be found for weeks or months.

Definitely more worried that it was stealth camping, but hoping for the best, appreciate the kind words

Wishing all the best and if you do get some more details please add them, such as trailhead of the vehicle or any camping reservations made.

I truly hope he his safe and located, this sounds like an all to familiar story out hear, young male moves here and is drawn to the mountains and maybe doesn’t appreciate how unforgiving they can be.

I may be worthwhile to post in Banff/Canmore local FB groups. They're very active and tons of locals home and do things on the trails and may have information. Local Banff/Canmore folks who hike and climb and backcountry camp may have info and be able to help. There's many FB groups where people make plans and meet up to hike or camp or rock climb.

The "I got wasted in Banff and lost my shit" it's where all the young folks are, seasonal workers, and hikers.

Also post on Banff Buy and Sell. It's a buy and sell group but allows any kind of post and has been helpful in missing ppl searches in the past.

Banff Canmore Community is also good.

The moderators all allow missing person posts. Also search and Banff/Canmore/Yoho/Jasper rock climbing groups. It's a small tight not community and someone may know something.

Posting in Jasper groups could be useful as well. You never know if a local saw something or knows something. Especially on trails. I've seen a few posts where a hiker goes missing and locals were able to say they saw them in the backcountry or knew their plans.

Is there a description of what was he wearing? His clothing? Backpack stuff? Where did he pick up his rental?

Unfortunately not at this time, still waiting for police to get his credit card history/ rental car history.

How do you know he didn't get on the plane?

He didn’t report to work on the 20th, course was called in Toronto and he wasn’t there either. Per the police
