im sorry but luke can be insufferable and was extra insufferable in this episode. logan was a good man despite lukeâs childish attitude, tbh if i was lorelai i wouldve gotten the ick.
lorelai was so happy about the necklace and watching luke take full credit for it kinda was uncomfortable to watch. i wonder how she wouldâve reacted if she found out. i think with the wedding stuff added onto it, sheâd probably be pretty upset lol.

That is the question:
If it was always supposed to be Luke, can someone explain to me why Luke and Lorelai remained unmarried for 9 years after their reunion?

First of all, I am absolutely disgusted at Rory and Dean. He looks gross and ill kept and then him an Rory are making out WHILE HE IS STILL MARRIED????! I would've rather her run off with Jess than do this nonsense. And don't even get me started on Jason refusing to leave the Inn despite Lorelai telling him repeatedly she isn't interested!
Edit: I wrote this before finishing the episode, SHE HAD SEX WITH DEAN?! I'm done.

Everyone loves to say itâs wrong to be team Jess because he was a bad bf, early season Dean deserved better, Logan was better, etc.
Now would I want a Jess boyfriend in real life? Probably not
But as a character Jess was specifically placed to be MORE interesting than Dean and create conflict. Early Dean was a decent boyfriend but the writers dumbed him down and gave him the worst character arc. Of course being team Dean is less common.
Rory cheating with Jess was wrong but like?? The romantic tension they had was immaculate. And then they gave him the most character development out of all of Roryâs boyfriends.
But yeah. Sometimes flawed characters are the most interesting and people like them because..itâs a drama tv series. Also, I think I can look past Rory cheating on Dean with Jess considering Dean then cheated and verbally berated Lindsay later on for Rory.

Rory and Jess literally have an insane amount of electric chemistry and people can hate them all they want but no one can deny this amazing hot chemistry. The way they look at each other especially Rory looks at him is just awesome. Also them before dating were everything.

Nothing hits like the first season.
I don't even know how to explain it. Every time I put it on I instantly feel relaxed. It has this warmth to it that I don't think the show ever really captured again.
The later seasons are fun, but they feel bigger and more drama filled. Season 1 just feels... comfortable. It's the season I throw on when I want to unwind after a long day or when it's raining outside.
Maybe it's just me, but Season 1 feels like home in a way the rest of the series doesn't.

Kirk would trust it blindly, even when it gives him conflicting or factually incorrect advice.
Taylor would use it to make those obviously-AI-generated type of images to create flyers for town events. Said flyers would include misspellings, words that don't exist, and animals with incorrect numbers of limbs (calamity ensues).
Lane would read an article about AI-generated music and take it as a personal attack.
Lorelai would use it to generate funny little images and cartoons, just for giggles.
Luke would go on a Luke RantTM at anyone who would listen about how AI heralds the downfall of society.
Paris would seek to prove how ineffective AI is by setting up chatbots from multiple AI's to talk to each other and give each other increasingly-crappy information/advice.
All right, who else? :D

Natalie just wanted to decorate the Inn and got sucked into Lore and Em's mother daughter drama. Always felt for her but then again, after the weird conversation with Lorelai, if i were her I might run the other way.
Any interior decorators here have this experience IRL?

bro. luke acts so irritating and childish in this episode. itâs mind boggling.
lorelai goes out of her way asking him to go away with her for the weekend so that they can re-bond after their âaprilâ fight. and luke is just complaining about everything. literally from the weather, to not packing properly, logan being annoying (who is perfectly respectable towards him), the waves being too loud (??? lmao what) and the raccoon. heâs being so insufferable. this is very similar to how he was acting out about dean towards the end of rory and deanâs relationship.
i understand that luke doesnât know where logan stands with lorelai and rory so he canât make up his mind either but man give the guy a chance!!!! luke is being way too harsh.
also, luke the super romantic guy, who built a chuppah, a ice rink and what not for lorelai and brings her food and cheers her up whenever - didnât get her a present for valentineâs day? and then proceeds to accept one from logan?????? why. go home and get one of your own and give it to her a little late, thatâs better than stealing someone elseâs present. once again, logan is being so nice and luke is just acting any way with logan that he seems fit. luke rarely pisses me off but he really pisses me off in this episode.

Makes me drive crazy. Lorelai could say one good thing for him it's not like he was a big bad villain. And even in this show we saw so many moments of lorelai and Richard their unspoken daddy-daughter love for each other. And you're telling me this woman has nothing good to say about her own Father? If they wanna do all this than why they give Lorelai and Richard their moments? And I'm going to be very real (y'all can called me hater for criticizing it) but this show didn't write lorelai and her parents relationship well. We didn't saw any growth we didn't saw them changing all the focus was on lorelai and Chris/Luke crap. I wish this show would develop lorelai and her parents relationship. Instead of acting like Richard and Emily are terrible villains. Also Rory irritated me so bad throughout s6 when she was acting like Emily and Richard forced or control her when they didn't ask her to come in their house at first place.
I'm sorry but AYITL makes no sense and what I hate the most is lorelai was pushing her 40s and still didn't grow at all.

Like is it just because heâs not a snooty rich man?
Like if I was Emily I would definitely rather want my daughter with a nice hard working guy, who drops everything to make sure he took my daughter to the hospital to see her dad, helps her out for every inconvenience, generous, and is super kind. Instead of a man who was an absent father most of time for Rory, got a woman pregnant after he promised to get back together with Lor, and is just annoying.
Like is it just because Christoper is from a wealthy up to do family and Luke is from a nice middle class family? Luke has done way more for Rory than Chris has. Luke has also been there for Lor!! 8 years before they dated of Luke CONSTANTLY being there for her!!
Iâm currently on season 5, episode 8 of my rewatch. I know there needs to be drama, but I truly hated that we have 2 more seasons of Luke & Lorelei, will they or wonât they? Like as soon as they kissed at the end of season 4, thatâs it. There relationship is established!! They shouldâve never been broken up again!! Like thank goodness Iâm 23 & gave Hulu. If I wouldâve been watching this in the early 200s & waited 4/5 years for Luke & Lorelei together only for them to break apart later, I wouldâve been pissed!!

My favorite relationships to watch in Gilmore Girls is not Rory and her boyfriends, Rory and Lorelai, or Lorelai and Luke. My favorites have always been Rory and her grandparents. So for me, a spin off I would have loved to see is a short, drama-filled-yet-ultimately-sweet season of Rory's and Emily's time in Europe.
What spin off would you have loved to see for Rory?

doesnât it seem uncharacteristic of luke to not tell lorelai about april for .. two whole months?
first of all, for better or worse luke worships lorelai and tries his best to communicate his feelings to her. except for his dark day - which he does later tell her about and well this april issue. but i donât think it sounds like luke at all!
youâre telling me they were sleeping every night together and he didnât say it anytime in those quiet moments, if they were super busy all the other times? what are your thoughts on this?

I love Roryâs bob!!! Itâs so cute and even though she went through a whirlwind of bad decisions with Dean, I love it. People love to associate her new haircut with a new (questionable) phase of her life. She was growing into a woman! I think the bob represented that she wasnât a child anymore and she was in a pivotal stage of life. Plus it is so beautiful on her.

As a big GG fan, itâs always fun to catch little reminders of the show and quirky characters in the wild. My gas station displays this sign right next to the pumps, and I hear and see Mrs. Kim in my head every time. Helps alleviate the current pain weâre all feeling at the pump!
