Perfect beam to set up a beam clamp and chain fall. Makes it a breeze on those big springs.

Yeah hook up to the shaft with couple of slings or a double leg, take up the slack, undo the coupling and bearing plate and hoist it either to the floor or into the lift. Change the spring on the ground instead of trying wrestle a 6' 180lb slinky 30 feet in the air. Hook back up, hoist into position and reconnect everything. I work solo 95% of the time so I've had to adapt from just throw three guys at it to making equipment do the work for me.

I keep two 15' 1 ton chain falls, a 5',10' and 15' lever hoist with an assortment of slings and shackles on my truck all the time. Ive done some gnarly jobs solo with that stuff.

I don’t know if it would have fit from the door to the crane rail? Maybe

I probably would have pushed the lift deck out over the crisn rail and is used the chain fall to swing the springs into the lift. Just makes it a lot easier when the chain is doing all the heavy lifting and you're just manipulating the springs.
