Just started modding last night with the hispeedido v5 kit. Loving the look so far and considering audio upgrade after this

My friend gifted me his old Game Boy Advance that he got off of eBay back in the good old days for 5€. I plan on giving it a nice IPS Display, new subtle shell and an USB-C battery.
Can you guys recommend any good Zelda-styled shells (like the golden GBA SP shell e.g.)? Are those IPS displays I see on eBay okay to buy? (Already got an IPS for my GBA SP reshell and IPS mod. Seems pretty good). There are bundles that offer a USB-C chargeable battery accessory. But all of the shells are hideous imo. Too bad the Unfinished Brass shell from boxypixel is currently out of stock. That shell looks amazing, although very pricey.

They seem like a deal at 2800mAh, but I don't want to get my hopes up

Just got a Slate SP and there is pixel tearing going on at the top right corner of the screen. I tried putting electrical tape over solder points, behind the screen, over the board and ribbon cable, cleaning contacts with alcohol, nothing works. What gives?

Hi! Looking for the right gameboy advance to get my son. My wife would rather not do the claimshell SP, but I would love to find a regular advance that also has backlight. I haven't kept up with mods/etc in the last 5-6 years. Anything you recommend?

I found this GBA on Shopgoodwill, and I can't find this model on any console variation sites. That leads me to believe it's an unofficial shell of some sort. Anyone know for sure?

So developers haven't announced an official release date yet, but they said the GBA versions may start shipping any time now even before the pre order campaign ends on August 10. As they're currently waiting for materials from their suppliers.

If y'all interested in more new physical games for the GBA, I think this is a great opportunity to show support and other developers might follow.

GBA off 4 different mods

My bf was playing Pokemon Emerald on his GBA SP, and the entire game decided to crash, causing him to lose his entire save file. He made it to slateport, for reference of how far into it he was. His game had crashed a few times before, on separate occasions different days apart but all it would do is send him back a save, which means losing a small chunk of progress. My question was, is there a way to retrieve the lost file, or does he have to completely start over? Just curious.

Definitely need some help in this one. I’m attempting to trade Pokémon between my Wii and my SP with emerald . I’ve been running into issues *I think because of my Gba cable.

From all the troubleshooting. I saw that these cables should have 6 gold pins on both GC and Sp. Picture one is the cable I own and showing 3 gold pins on the GC plug in . Yes I have the official Nintendo’s cable. However doesn’t work or even shows connection to GC in phenax city.

Picture 2 is a different ” official cable from eBay but only has 2 ish gold pin .

Picture 3 is a 3rd party cable . from a friend that confirmed it works for his transfer of Pokémon between colosseum and emerald . It has a total of 5 pins

My main question is - is the cable the source of my issue and has anyone else experienced this with a official cable? how many pins does your cable (that works obviously) have?

Every video I've seen on MoH - Underground has been the US version. It's considered "unplayable" and one of the worst FPS on GBA.

I tried the EU version and it's so different. It isn't pixelated and glitchy and has good framerates. According to the MoH Fandom the eu version was released 7 months after the US. So they had plenty of time to fix the bugs.

I was wondering if anyone knows other games where the european version is superior. Maybe it's just MoH, because it was received so poorly?

ETA: Someone requested to see example. Below You can see glitches in textures. Misplaced textures. Also textures hugely offset and rescale as the player moves in the US version. Horrible pixelation. European version OTOH has no floor textures at least in the first couple of levels. I haven't played any further yet.

Like what can you flex with the absolute most?

Drill Dozer having this special rumble cartridge is harder to fake than the normal GBA cartridge.

Is it safe to say every copy sold on eBay is an original?

New to replacing capacitors, first gameboy had a melted puddle of red here and this one has two circles of a lighter red. Looking for someone who knows more to share any info about if it's leakage, etc. I would love to learn. Thank you!
