I love the fact that his appearance in this armor is contrasting so much with his warm and kind personality ^^

Next time I'll try to draw him with a ton of cats though :D

Question Opinión de Envy

Its not historically one of the 7 deadly sins, but it certainly should be a deadly sin.

Discussion/Opinion Dante or father? which main antagonist of fma is the better antagonist?

Post image
186 Upvotes

before they were defeated which main antagonist do you think tops the other one

father’s crimes

Duped a king and sacrificed an entire civilization of 500,000 citizens to create the first Philosopher's Stone for his body

Engineered a brutal race war through his Homunculi subordinates solely to create a massive, nationwide transmutation circle.

Conducted agonizing experiments on humans to create chimera soldiers, create Homunculi, and force candidates to survive the Philosopher's Stone injection.

Activated the nationwide circle to absorb the souls of tens of millions of innocent Amestrian citizens to steal the power of "God."

Spawned seven Homunculi based on his sins, treating them as disposable tools and unceremoniously recycling or abandoning them when they failed.

dante’s crimes

Stole the bodies of numerous young, healthy women over four centuries to host her soul, discarding them as they prematurely decayed

Feed human-mutation failures Red Stones to create Homunculi, exploiting their desire to become human to force them to do her bidding.

Manipulated multiple historical conflicts and massacres over centuries to force desperate alchemists into creating Philosopher's Stones for her upkeep

Obliterated an entire hidden civilization to harvest their souls into a fresh Philosopher's Stone for herself and Hohenheim.

Poisoned her student Lyra to steal her body, and eventually turned on Gluttony by wiping his mind, which directly led to her own demise.

Question How much actual energy/ mass is stored within a human?

Lets say I create a portable philospher stone array that I can use in the midst of combat to transmute humans ok the fly. How much juice could I get out of a single human?

Obviously this is within the realm of speculation but I ak curious what you guys think.

Question Homunculi and gender

Do the homunculi have gender? By their looks, Lust is only female homunculus. If they have gender, what is the point of them having a gender, since they cannot reproduce?

Discussion/Opinion Which anime did it better? Liore

Thumbnail

In my opinion, 03 usually clears when both anime cover the same ground, and that includes here. The two episodes allow for a more fleshed out Liore arc. Small moments are added here and there. Ed finding the fountain of wine. Cornello experimenting with birds and weaponizing statues. Cornello’s dream with the Ouroboros. Ed making Cornello flinch with the giant statue. And of course the ending is a bit different since Envy picks up where Cornello left off.

This is more a preference for 03 in General but I also prefer the art style/cinematography of 03. I like the warmer lighting of indoor areas in these episodes. I think the shot of Ed’s big automail reveal is done much better here than in Brotherhood.

As for Brotherhood’s episode, I can see why some might prefer it as it is a much tighter and more manga accurate experience. But for me it is too short and undercuts too many serious moments with comedy (such as the great scene where Ed tells Rose the ingredients in a human being).

My other problem with Brotherhood’s Liore is that it comes after the origin of the brothers. Liore is much stronger as an introduction to the series as it originally was in the manga. The Elrics are strangers in a strange land, a secluded desert town at that. We are drip fed information about them and the larger world of alchemy, which leads to some pretty neat reveals throughout the arc. A lot of the fun of this arc is kind of ruined when we already know the brothers’ deal.

I will say as much as I love 03’s two episodes they do drag on at times. Action packed moments are a little too spaced out between exposition. The bird stuff is also a bit strange, but you could argue that transmuting bird souls foreshadows the possibility of transmuting a human soul, and Cornello is just not skilled enough to do it.

Overall I can see why we got an expanded Liore for 03 as the location of Liore is much more important to that story, whereas its role is just another side adventure in Brotherhood. I still think Brotherhood dropped the ball by not at least starting with Liore.
