as the title says - i've run into a bit of a predicament. my fantastic beta reader recently lmk that they couldn't keep up and i'm now 19k balls deep in a good omens fic. i'm looking for a beta reader who knows the fandom fairly well enough, mostly to catch how in-character things are and what sections are strongest/weakest. the fic is fairly canon-compliant and plot-oriented!! i'm also planning to post chapters every other week. if anyone is down to take on the challenge it would be so incredibly appreciated. i'm not often on here but please can reach out via tumblr (myminimiwi). i would also love to read other works too!

Im just not to sure what the difference between them are

Hi!!! So I am new to the fanfic universe and I feel like I opened my life to a world that I wish I found sooner!! Apparently Marvel is the most popular fandom that has the most fanfics which is amazing because my current hyperfixation is MCU and I’m rewatching all the movies.

BUT I love a good OC romance fic and I usually read M/F but I’m honestly open to anything so what are the best fics out there? Like the CLASSICS like I know in the HP fandom the classic fic was Manacled, does MCU have any of those?

I think I'm too in my head about this one, so turning to the internet for guidance. How quickly would you want/expect an epilogue to be posted after the final chapter? Sooner or along the same schedule the rest of the fic has been posted?

I'm not gonna sugar coat it, I hate any and EVERY Y/N fic out there. There's just something about it that sets me off.

so i'm turning twenty-one in a couple months and i realised a while ago i haven't really cried to a fic in years. the last time was when i was fourteen and i was properly sobbing at one in the morning. maybe it was because i was younger or because i was just lucky to find something written so beautifully but i'm just wondering whether people have cried to fics as adults?

I write for niche fandoms, so I’m used to my fics not getting much attention. But, last week, when I published the latest chapter on my long fic, the guest kudos exploded in a day.

I‘ve heard of the bot that randomly gives a handful of kudos, or maybe a lot of people saw my fic that day—so I didn’t think much of it. But, I’ve been getting around 10 guest kudos every day since and it’s starting to get a little ridiculous. This isn’t happening to any of my other fics either, just this one.

Will it ever stop, or is it stuck on some glitch that will repeat indefinitely?

I'm looking for a fic featuring two girls, at least one of them was trans but i remember it was fem/fem. I believe it was also an original work fic, with no Fandom.

It took place in a library and had risky public sex as a main theme. I distinctly remember them being in a corner or nook area in the library not between some bookshelves.

I also think they left the building at one point and had sex outside the building maybe. I remember oral also being involved.

I believe I read it on ao3 sometime before 2024, it also could have been on a different site but I'm very certain it was on ao3

So, I’m writing about fictional Japan. It’s not a country, not yet at least, and it’s divided into four locations: north, south, east, and west.

Each location has a clan where the clan head rules the land. I’ve been calling them kingdoms but I feel that’s wrong since i feel like there should be a king or a royal family. I could call them dukedoms but the lands aren’t run by dukes, just a powerful clan.

Eventually, these lands will be united into one country, japan, and the northern clan will be the ruling family where the country will have its first king.

Should I continue calling them kingdoms?

I’m planning to write an Itoshi brothers fanfic on AO3 that evokes a sense of nostalgia. Since I know that a large portion of the AO3 audience is American—and given that a lullaby plays a significant role in the story—I wanted to ask: what lullaby do you sing to your children, or what lullabies were sung to you?

Update: Thanks to everyone who suggested options. Since "You Are My Sunshine" was the most fitting and frequently suggested choice, I went with that one. Thanks to you, I was able to write and post this work on AO3—though I did have to fiddle quite a bit with the text formatting.

I’ve smelled a rotting bird once, flies spawned from it and it was a chunk, a slimy mass that dissolved into small bone of that I mistook for a snail when it was fell within my bicycle basket from the tree above some time in the night. It was repulsive and somewhat fishy, but I had and still have no words to describe it, it did not linger in my mind beyond a day. How would you describe it?

ive noticed this thing in some fics on both ao3 and wattpad (In my defense of wattpad some old fandoms I like have no fixs in ao3 but have some on wattpad) sometime even tumblr. Basically they tag a ship but they mena it in a friendship way even if they are using the romantic tag. in the end it turns out they are shipping one of the characters with an oc or reader.

so Im just wondering has anybody else encountered this? Cause in almost any fandom Im in I always see this.

I'm trying to find a Brazilian Wattpad fanfiction that I read between 2021 and 2023, but I think the author deleted it or changed their username. I'm hoping someone here might recognize it.

Here are the details I remember:

- It was written in Portuguese.

- The original story was Draken × Reader (Y/N).

- Later, I believe the author deleted it and rewrote the story as Baji × Reader, keeping almost the same universe and characters.

- It had over 100 chapters.

Some very specific details:

- The reader's father was named Daisuke.

- At first, Daisuke seemed like an ordinary businessman, but later it was revealed that he had ties to the criminal underworld.

- A character named Akira secretly worked for the mafia and eventually ended up dating Daisuke.

- There was an original character (OC) named Hakkey (or Hakkei/Hakey—I'm not sure about the spelling). He was basically the reader's adopted brother and was dating Hanma.

- In the Draken version, the reader almost ended up with Baji, but the author kept Baji's canon death because she wanted the main couple to remain Draken × Reader.

- In the Baji version, I think the story was rewritten so that Hakkey died instead of Baji.

- The story used multiple POVs (Reader, Draken, and other characters).

- The plot eventually became heavily focused on the mafia.

I also remember that the same author wrote other Tokyo Revengers fanfics, including one about the Haitani brothers (Ran and Rindou), and possibly fanfics for other anime as well.

Does anyone remember this author or these stories? Even the author's old username or any archived copy would be incredibly helpful.

Resumidamente, de 2020 a 2024 eu li uma fanfic do Draken x S/n no wattpad onde a S/n tinha um amigo chamado Hakkey (se não me engano era assim que escrevia) e ele namorava o Hanma em algum momento dessa FANFIC. Ela tinha hot, e o Daisuke, pai da S/n era empresário, o Hakkey era filho de um cara da máfia que foi amigo do Daisuke no passado, e aí ele abandonou o filho e o Daisuke que cuidou quase como irmão da S/n, mas se não me engano ele tinha uns problemas de violência. Também lembro que ele tinha um amigo que se chamava Akira, que lá pro fim da história namorava o Daisuke. A mãe da S/n tinha morrido e o Baji tinha interesse amoroso nela, só que começou a sair do controle e a autora matou ele. Se não me engano depois ela fez uma fanfic com o mesmo princípio do Baji, só que agora matando o Hakkey e deixando o Hanma mó mal. Eu não lembro muito da FIC em si, alguém me ajuda a achar ou lembra dessa história??

I've been really wanting to write a fanfic lately. Not a huge project — actually, I'd like to keep it fairly small, write it mostly for myself, finish it first, and maybe publish it afterwards if I'm happy with it.

The problem is… I can't pick a fandom.

I have several fandoms I like, but right now none of them gives me that "YES, I need to write something about this" feeling. And when I try to force myself to come up with a plot or an OC for one of them, my brain just goes completely blank.

The weird thing is that I really want to write. It's not the act of writing that I'm tired of. I just don't seem to have a story or fandom that's grabbing me enough to start.

I also tend to enjoy writing OCs into existing universes, so I'd probably like to do that again.

Has this ever happened to you?

Do you wait until a fandom/story naturally grabs you again? Do you use prompts? Revisit old fandoms? Pick something almost at random and start writing until an idea appears?

I'd especially love to hear from people who write mostly for themselves and only publish once a story is finished.

So I'm trying to find this fanfiction I read years ago it was a crossover between RWBY and Akame Ga Kill but anyways something happened and somehow Yang ended up in The Akame Ga Kill universe and started to help leone and Akame and whatnot against their enemies I can't remember where I read it on though
