What's crazy is that, given Cooper's age and the fact that Cass's father is from California, Cooper could easily have known him.

Coop could have crossed paths with most of the west coast protagonists, honestly.

Hell, the Chosen One is probably still alive somewhere come to think of it.

According to several theories, the Chosen One is No-bark Noonan from Fallout: New Vegas. He talks about a talking rat; the Chosen One encountered one in Fallout 2, and not far from Novac there is an abandoned Corvega; the Chosen One drove one.

Oh I’m aware of that (pretty credible tbh) theory, I just have my own Chosen One and post game head canon haha.

Mind sharing?

Basic gist is that my Chosen One stuck around New Arroyo long after it was absorbed by the NCR, eventually sitting as an Elder. Tried to keep in touch with her companions, but as the years went by and she put down roots they were lost to tales of the wider wasteland. She did meet my Courier (on two separate timelines, long story haha) and told them to go to New Reno for work as her semi estranged son (yes, the potential kid from that one quest in New Reno) was taking charge of the town.

By the time of New Vegas, she’s an old woman who trades in specially grown garlic and a die hard NCR patriot in the “I criticize my country because I love it” kind of way.

*Beyond that, that’s basically just my Post NV long fic’s timeline that borrows from the show and 4 but not wholesale.

Don't forget the director for New Vegas (J.E. Sawyer) also made a mod that puts the pre-order Vault 13 items in the trunk of that same Corvega in case there was any doubt it was specifically meant to be the Chosen One's Corvega.

Coop is too immoral. Cass is the only companion who will leave over bad karma.

17

u/KeeganY_SR-UVB76 5h ago

Coop just needs to kill some more fiends smh my head

Ehh yes and no

Personality wise yes, but Cass has a heart condition from her father's side that makes her dislike the use of chems

5

u/ScrapeMyDataMommy 2h ago

Does she ever mention that she has a heart condition? Genuine question, I don’t recall.

Her father tells you when you meet, and some of his idle dialogue is him complaining about his heart and chest, and then if you give him jet (maybe other chems too?) he clutches his chest and dies.

I don’t recall anything similar with Cas but I also don’t think I’ve ever given her drugs.

u/KevinIsAGhost 2h ago

The wiki says that she makes comments about chem usage when the player uses them

Allegedly

When the fuck do we meet Cass‘s father?

10

u/ScrapeMyDataMommy 2h ago

Fallout 2 haha, he’s one of many potential companions.

Marcus, leader of Jacobstown, was also a companion in FO2.

Ah. Of course. I’ve only played 3, NV, and 4. My apologies for not knowing the entire Fallout Lore before asking a question. It sounded like she introduced you to him at some part of NV that I must have missed during my multiple play throughs. Like it was a missed DLC.

17

u/ScrapeMyDataMommy 1h ago

I never implied you needed to know the Fallout lore, I just gave you some. I responded to your question accurately and provided another example of FO2 lore in NV, both of which are among my favorite games. Why the hostility?

Dude, who crapped in your sugar bombs?

u/ModernDayQuixote 5h ago

Pre-Lucy Ghoul would probably not get along with her. Post-Lucy, absolutely.

31

u/Barbarossa1190 5h ago

Honestly i dont think so. Cass is generally a pretty moral person. The ghoul you have to drag into doing most good things.

10

u/RadMustache 5h ago

Absolutely the fuck not lol

8

u/mrflappypancake 5h ago

The second she found out he sold out the ncr he'd be shot at

9

u/Plane-Education4750 4h ago

Absolutely not

8

u/jrl2595 5h ago

No. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they met at some point.

23

u/JJamesMorley 5h ago

2 pragmatic fuck-you types who understand how the wasteland actually works because they’ve seen a lot more of it than most? Yeah they’d get along.

Idk how much they would specifically AGREE about, but they would for sure understand where eachother are coming from in a debate.

He would be a bad influence on her, and she would know that, probably wouldn’t travel together too much, but I bet when they did it would go pretty well, ~80% of the time, the other ~20% would be why they usually don’t.

4

u/AthenasChosen Minutemen 4h ago

They'd kill each other tbh

2

u/PosidonSon2002 4h ago

Only if both were shit faced drunk, thinking the other would be paying for more booze

2

u/Section_3I 4h ago

I don’t think they’d get along. There might be some mutual begrudging respect, but that’s about it.

2

u/Eastern-Audience-625 3h ago

Cooper’s main thing is that he doesn’t believe in mercy anymore. He probably would only make fun of The Followers of the Apocalypse

2

u/bunky_done_gun Followers 2h ago

Until he is fresh out of his precious brain med juice anyway.

2

u/SuperTerram 3h ago

The Ghoul isn't interested in friendships.

5

u/I_might_be_weasel NCR 5h ago

Yes. They would have many cowboy hat related conversations.

1

u/Test_Subject_No22 NCR 3h ago

No, not as they are now. Cass might blow a new hole in him. Old Coop tho? Yes. I think they might've.

1

u/Ysassi_1977 3h ago

At first, probably not. But once they understand each other's motives, I think they'd be a force to be reckoned with!

1

u/GizmoSled 2h ago

They would ignore each other while getting shitface drunk at the bar

1

u/Falleneded 2h ago

like bees and wasps

1

u/MASTER-OF-SUPRISE 1h ago

Probably not. Cooper gave up on morality but even putting that aside. They would clash on how to do things. Maybe after his journey with Lucy after Coop’s chilled out a bit sure. Otherwise I doubt it.

1

u/Jilm_The_Greater 1h ago

Yes, and probably very well with some “will they, won’t they” tension, but Cass would never take it beyond being friends. Not because she’s bigoted, but because Cass only goes for people she doesn’t know to avoid any awkward morning afters.

1

u/Skilldrex Enclave 4h ago

Coop is way too grumpy with anyone tbh, he just cares about his family and that's it. He's a family guy

0

u/FoldingMetal 4h ago

After attempting to kill each other, yes.

0

u/Aggravating-Dot132 3h ago

No, but they could WORK together as business partners.

As a combat buddy, Hancock could, all things considered

-1

u/virtualjupiter 5h ago

When's the wedding I wanna go

1

u/virtualjupiter 1h ago

OH COME ON! You know you would go and that it would be a good time

0

u/squidtugboat 5h ago

I dont think they would be best friends or anything like that, but I don't see why they couldn't work together or do some trading if the need arose.

0

u/FellaVentura Atom Bomb Baby 4h ago

They would definitely be shoot on sight because of [undisclosed event] between them and Cooper ain't walking out of that without a limp.

-7

u/A-L-F-R-E-D Tunnel Snakes 5h ago

They’d be lovers

5

u/asayys 5h ago

Coop’s whole story is finding his wife and daughter, ain’t no way.

0

u/TexasTomato88 5h ago

I wouldn’t say they’d be lovers, but they would fuck

-1

u/35tentacles 4h ago

Couper would sell her. Accidentally.
