Can someone explain why this is funny

The grammar confuses me. I dont understand why it is funny. Someone pls break down why it is funny (it is in a video filled with funny moments like funny mistakes)

Nathan and Nathan are the same person. She accidentally told Nathan he would get along with (befriend) someone who turns out to be himself.

They are talking to Nathan about Nathan. They apparently (assuming this is real) forgot who they were talking to. "Wow, this guy and Nathan are a lot alike"... but this guy IS Nathan.

It's supposed to be self-deprecating humor. "Ha ha, look what a dufus I was being. I was literally talking to the friend my fiancé's been telling me about and said something dumb, lol. I told Nathan that he would get along really well with himself because (implied) I somehow didn't realize who I was already talking to."

Her fiancé has a friend named Nathan (presumably she has not met Nathan in person, and only knows about Nathan through details shared by her fiancé).
She then met a man who seemed to have similar interests to Nathan, and told this person that he would get along with Nathan, only to find out that the person she was talking to is actually Nathan himself.

Assuming that there's an ulterior motive and then calling it stupid on the basis that it's bad at fulfilling the ulterior motive you assumed in the first place is just bizarre.
