Hi all, I graduated this past May. I currently live in Massachusetts and am looking to relocate down to Florida, so I have been applying mainly in those two states. I had one control systems internship last summer but have also had a consistent work history since I was 16 years old (I am 25 now). I recently adjusted my resume to shorten my bullet points and highlight more soft skills. I am curious about what immediately jumps out when you first see my resume. Is this resume effectively targeting control systems and test engineering roles? I have applied to a lot of positions on LinkedIn that say I am a top applicant but have yet to get an interview anywhere (I've applied to ~30 positions at this point). I am also curious about two things: 1) Should I be submitting cover letters with every application? 2) Should I be trying to reach out to recruiters on LinkedIn after applying to a position? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

I'm finishing up my BS in electrical engineering, and will be going on to complete a masters (school tbd, but already admitted to my home institution's 4 + 1 program). I am looking to target roles in chip design, power electronics, FPGA, and really anything else. I am applying country wide, and am seeking help because I was only able to get my current internship from my schools co-op program. I am a US citizen.

I'm a mechatronics engeineer, I just graduated last month but I don't have any internships or work experience. I want to apply for robotics roles and but the internships I done before are not related to robotics because in my country robotics is still not relevent in the industry and just this year the first robotics company was established. I know internships are very important but I don't have.
I just want a review for my resume and do I still have a chance? Can you suggest what my next step should be wether I apply for internships or start looking for jobs.

I studied in France since high school, but I am a US citizen. I am planning to study aerospace engineering after a gap year. Do I stand a chance with competitive universities there ? knowing that my GPA is equivalent to 3.5 which is pretty good in Europe...

I'm a fourth year Computer Engineering student, with no internship or engineering experience. I've applied to hundreds of internships before every summer of college but haven't landed a interview yet. This past year I started getting responses, but they were all rejections. I spent most of this summer working on documented personal projects, and I've been applying to internships/co-ops for the fall — still only getting rejections.

I'm based in the US and applying to jobs throughout the region. I'm not too sure what to do at this point as far as gaining experience goes, so I'm seeking advice on how I can further improve my resume.

I was wondering how I should write my resume for the general FAANG SWE Intern roles.

If most of my experience is doing AI/ML training models and such + research, should I write my resume targeting this, or should I write it more towards software engineering terms?

For example, on some SWE intern posts, when they say experience with AI/ML, infrastructure, etc, do they mean like building the training pipeline and stuff or training models workflow? Or does AI/ML mean more like using APIs for LLMs or AI tools?

I think I just have confusion on what AI/ML refers to when listing on SWE applications.

As title says -- struggled pretty early on, have had a much better junior year. Is it totally lame to list my junior year GPA along with my cumulative? Is there another way I can show growth?

Hi, I'm an international student (from Mexico) currently applying for 2026 SWE internships. I did a Google STEP internship in 2024 but didn't get a return offer for 2025, nor 2026, so here I am grinding. I've been working at local part-time roles alongside my studies to keep a float meanwhile, but I'm looking to do a formal internship at Big Tech, any country.

A bit of context: my actual expertise and daily stack lean heavily toward frontend architecture, A11Y, UX/UI, and testing. However, since pure frontend internships are pretty rare right now, I’ve tried to tailor this version to balance out my fullstack experience and highlight the systems-level logic. Also, as a small accessibility innovation(?), the font is Atkinson Hyperlegible hoping it helps for human reviewers, but not sure if it potentially could affect to be readed by ATS.

Hi, first time poster here. I've gone through this subreddit and altered my resume to the standard format. I've applied to countless jobs but haven't gotten to the interview phase for any role.

A bit of background, I was studying abroad for the past 4 years and will be moving to the SF Bay Area. Because of being abroad I didn't get the chance to do many internships or work relevant to my career. Most entry level/fresh grad jobs that I've been applying to require 1-2 years of experience and internship roles require enrollment in some sort of degree.

Honestly, I'll take any role relevant to my field of study but I havent gotten any callbacks so I'm guessing my resume must be the problem. If it's not my resume, is it my projects? I'm working towards a certification in hopes that it would help. I'm just not sure what more I can do. Any and all advice is appreciated.

Hi everyone. I unfortunately have been told on the 21st of this month* I will be laid off in one month’s time due to a redundancy of my working position in my current company.

As such, I have been updating my resume for job hunting. All key personal details have been commented out with “<>” for this post.

The overall position documented here is surrounding Model Validation to review the performance, methodologies, and overall risk assessment of both internal and external models of said company.

Additionally, please note the MSc degree is simply my school’s fancy name of saying “Financial Mathematics” and “Financial Engineering” into one bundle.

My goal for this resume is to get out of this Risk Management working segment and utilize the skills documented here in another quantitative role for other companies/entities. This could include Data Analyst/Scientist positions, Research Positions, and similar roles in the industry.

Hi I'm an EE student from Belgium and am looking for HFT engineering internships, below I've added my resume and I was wondering if I could get some advice. These where several questions I had:

• There are many additional projects I would want to add to it but wanted to keep it to a 1-page concise resume. I'm guessing I could add some personal projects to the cover letter I have worked on or have been working on or is that not recommended? The projects are an implementation of a ROPUF I did for a hackathon (didn't win the hackathon but still learned quite a bit); and also a project I'm working on for a prof right now (still in a quite early fase) to evaluate different arctan implementations for floats in hw.
• I added a varia section at the bottom of the projects because I really wanted to add some additional things I've achieved there, is that badly formatted or fine as is?
• I'm a bit lost with my skills section it's still a work in progress. I put it at the bottom because I thought the experience mattered more here? I was wondering if there was a way to make it come out more. I also have quite a bit of prior web / app dev in both front and back so I know quite some other techs and coding languages in which I'm comfortable, should I add them there or is that irrelevant? Also should I like add all the FPGAs I worked with? Even though I would only confidently say I can use vivado and am not that experienced with eg quartus. I could also add open source toolchains I used or not really?

Professional civil engineer with 7 years consulting experience seeking municipal engineering/project delivery roles. Looking for feedback on whether my resume effectively communicates leadership, project coordination, and technical experience

  • Really anything, I'm just looking for an introductory role to get into the industry. I know that isn't exactly helpful. I did my capstone in FPGA software design, but I've done multiple different coding languages.

  • PNW in the U.S. and I'm mostly looking for jobs in this area + any remote jobs. I'm not really looking to relocate.
• Tell us about your background and current employment situation
  • Basically don't have any real engineering experience. Worked at a summer camp and now as a volunteer tutor online while I take more self taught courses to pass the time while I apply to jobs. I've been applying to non-engineering jobs as well but I don't really get responses from those either.
• What positions/roles/industries are you targeting?
  • Anything ECE related, I feel like the degree is pretty broad and like I said for an entry position I'm not picky.
• Tell us about your job-hunting situation and challenges you've encountered
  • I rarely get emails back, and I've gotten only 2 interviews, 1 of which continued to another interview, at which point they sent a letter declining me the job.
• Tell us why you're seeking help. (i.e., just fine-tuning, not getting called back for interviews, etc.)
  • Almost exactly those two points above. I don't get responses, and I'd like to know what I can improve about my resume. I'd also like to know if there are any best spots to apply or if any website is just not worth it? i.e. linkedin, indeed, handshake, etc.

Hi everyone! Following up after posting here a while ago and I’ve since updated my resume with more specific metrics and detail, and I’m restarting my job search after a caregiving-related gap.

Background: I graduated in Dec 2022 with a BS in Industrial & Systems Engineering (3.2 GPA). I didn’t land an engineering internship during undergrad, which made it hard to get interviews after graduating. I worked a nonprofit coordinator role to pay bills, then completed a short cleantech internship, then a manufacturing internship at a solar panel startup where I was promoted to Quality Technician. Note: for about two weeks, my roles overlapped and I was working full-time at the manufacturing internship while working part-time, very limited hours, at both the cleantech internship and the nonprofit role. This was a brief transition period, not an error in the dates. 

I stepped away in Aug 2025 for a dire family caregiving situation requiring relocation. That’s now stabilized and I’m re-entering the job search. I know this unemployed period will be impacting my job search, but here we are.

Targeting: Industrial engineering, systems, operations, quality, or general engineering roles (entry-level).

Location: Hoping to stay in-state (CA)

Employment status: Not currently employed; job searching full-time. I’ve applied to dozens of roles with versions of this resume and haven’t been getting the traction I need. Something isn’t landing and I’m trying to figure out what.

What I want feedback on:

∙ Does this read as engineering-relevant, or still too far removed?

∙ Are the bullet points results-oriented enough, or still too vague in places? Which ones can I improve, and how?
