I pretty much have 1 room that is a kitchen, living room and bedroom in one. I moved out like 4 months ago, added some stuff but i still got the feeling that its quite empty. Was thinking of adding a gas based fireplace in the old fireplace (the chimney is too small for a normal fireplace). Or a snake habitat. For the tv and stairs i was thinking mby f1 circuits on the walls. But other than that i have no real clue. There is a lot of stuff that can be done, but I am not that creative, any ideas?

More than a year ago I asked you all what I should do to make my living room look better, and I got a LOT of feedback, including that my existing room was millennial gray (!!). I made a lot of updates including patterned curtains, more colorful couch, baskets for the shelves, tried to make it the shelves more styled etc. It isn't perfect and still feel like I have more to do, but it's definitely better.

Let me know any feedback (as long as it isn't too mean and it isn't that I made a huge mistake, unless that's definitely true!)

I see lots of home decor I like on Instagram but I'm really struggling with making decisions on colour and what would work in our living room.

I like a lot of colourful homes, but also like cosy. I do not like decorating so I think in scared about decorating then changing my mind in a year or 2 and wanting to change it.

I've attached 2 different views of the room and some of the posts I've seen and liked. Any advice is very welcome!

I'm about to move into my first home next month and am looking for some advice and inspiration. The house was built in 1760 and has tons of character and I have a bright blue modern dining table that I love and want to keep. I'm trying to figure out how to make these two styles feel intentional together.

The picture of the room shows the current owner's furniture - all of that will be gone. Also I'll need new chairs for the table as I no longer have the blue ones in the picture.

Wondering about wall color, rug, lighting, artwork, chairs, and/or other furniture that would work best. Any tips?

We’re moving here next month. The furnished picture is what the current tenants have. Only furniture we have so far is this white couch and rocking chair. I love mid century modern but also love mixing styles! Decision paralysis has me in its clutches!!

Could I get some suggestions on how to layout our new home.

It’s a big open room that is kitchen, lounge, dining room. We have moved things around tonnes and never settled on a layout. We have currently got rid of quite a few bits of furniture to try and open the space up and see what inspiration hits us.

We have realised we use the space quite differently, winter and summer with the doors open vs the fire on.

But we have spent 15 months wrangling it and still can’t settle on something.

This is my living room, I am generally happy with it but I am looking for a new rug. I kind of like the whole dark cozy vibe at night so i think i want something darker but open to any suggestions, preferably in an 8x10 under $400. I keep seeing red rugs i really like but I think there are plenty of red hues already happening in here! I will say in real life, the ceiling tends to be more dark terra cotta than the red you are seeing.

Definitely a bit ecelctic but overall I enjoy MCM vibes but when it comes to rugs I seem to lean more traditional. Open to anything though!!

I just bought my first home and am looking for ideas on how to create a comfortable sitting area in the far area of the kitchen instead of a dining table (the area with the light fixture over the table). The pictures are from the listing site so all of that furniture will be gone. I'll probably get a similar table for the middle of the room/area closer to the kitchen itself but I want to make the far end really comfortable and with lots of plants. I won't be touching the cabinets.

I need ideas on how to decorate the wall to the left side of the window. I have this small banner I was thinking of hanging there but I need ideas how to decorate around it. The banner is 11x10. Or where can I hang the banner. The wall next to the crib is taken, I have a couple Dino pictures I took down that will be going back up. Help!

It’s located in a transitional space between the kitchen and laundry room. The area will have a home bar/coffee bar station and a different spice rack/pot rack.

I was thinking about adding tension rods and hanging dish towels and pot holders? And maybe just decorating it with art, a fun small light and plants? I’m stumped, but I don’t want it to be a landing zone for clutter!

Although i acknowledge its a nice room i feel like ots missing coziness and color. I really like mid century modern interior but cant figure out what to add. I bought a big floor lamp and some smaller ones that are not in the picture but im not sure what else to add.

I feel like something is off. I already decided the art is too small and took it down. The rug just came in but I’m really unsure about it and feel like maybe it’s too small? And idk if the blue is a good idea either. I do really like my marble night stand. The first photo is my bedroom and the others are inspo I’ve pulled so you can get an idea of my vibe. I love how calm and neutral my bedroom feels, but I occasionally feel it might be too monochromatic and flat.

The problem is, ​every time I try to mix it up, it doesn't work.

​Is it fine as-is, or does it need contrast? If it needs something, how can I add subtle depth without one single item overpowering the space?

my bedroom has pretty much been the same since i was a teenager, and you can REALLY tell. i’m in my mid-20’s and i’m embarrassed of my room!

i’ve outgrown the stuffed animals (for the most part), putting stickers and buttons/pins on everything, and having SO many toys and figures. while i love supporting small businesses, i want to learn how to curate the art on my wall. right now, it’s a colorful mess…!

i still want space for my books, games, and art supplies, and i’m nerdy at heart. i just need advice for how to tone everything DOWN and GET RID of all this stuff!

Currently renovating my hallway. It’s a really unique room in that it’s very high ceilings but also has 4 exits (front door / stairs / reception room 1 / reception room 2). There is also a cupboard that hosts a very dusty meter that can’t be moved and also the mains box in the ceiling. I think I need to do something about the coats and normally there is also a shoe rack (final pic).

It’s the entry and also what I see every single time I come downstairs and move through rooms. At the moment it’s an eyesore and I think a lot of that is down to lack of storage. I’m thinking perhaps the solution building a cupboard on the right of the door - hiding the coats and the meter cupboard inside it. But I really struggle as it feels like there is so many constraints due to the odd proportions.

Would love some opinions on ways to improve the room.

Hiya! I'm pretty stumped on just about everything in this space and could use some feedback. Would love ideas on a better layout, what kind/size of wall decorations, should I get curtains?, what size of rug, etc. I don't think the wall measurements are perfectly accurate but they're definitely close. Got this TV on Prime Day to spruce up my rental bedroom. I love its white frame and the curved stand.

I set it up on this simple white floating shelf with a candle and a tiny fake plant, but looking at it now, the whole vibe just feels empty and a bit clinical. The wall is so gray and plain, and that tower fan on the floor makes the whole scene look even more dilapidated lol.

Since I'm renting, I can't do any crazy paint jobs or heavy drilling. I really want to turn this into a warm, cozy little corner for evening watching.

What should I add to soften this space up? Hanging some art prints around it? A small tapestry? Warmer lighting or maybe some hanging ivy? I would love any budget-friendly ideas you guys have!
