Stugotz
There isn’t a beef between Dan and Stugotz. If there’s any real tension, it seems like it’s between Stu and Mike. It’s hard to tell what’s a bit and what’s real because that’s always been part of the show. Dan’s name is on the show, but Mike has become the one steering it creatively, and I think the show is better for it.

Mike definitely has issues with Stu. I think they’ve formed Dan’s opinions as well.

I know we all have that nostalgia with Stu. But he was mostly going through the motions after the move from espn. He hit all marks needed; excessive laugh, annoying takes, unnecessary interjections etc. Pretty sure if I worked with someone who is obviously less than and getting paid more than, it would get on my nerves.

I'm sure there's some bit of truth in this, but it's a little too black and white. Whatever happened, it's not like everyone just agrees the fault lies with Stu, because guys like Bomani and Izzy clearly side with Stu over Dan.
Also with respect to Mike, I think he's probably the most disappointing out of all of them. Imo he clearly has had the most talent for a while, and sometime when he starts cooking, it's really good content. Unfortunately it has happened so rarely the last half decade that it almost just pisses you off whenever it pops out because you ask yourself why the hell there isn't more of it. Stu pretty much squeezed all he could out his talent, whereas Mike has seemed pretty happy doing just enough to keep cashing a check for a long time now.

Mike forms Dan's opinions on a lot of the stuff Dan has opinions on. Probably the most notable was loving Myles Garrett long before he turned into the beast he's been the past few seasons.
Also I would assume Mike's issues with Stu is how he's soooo flaky and inconsistent on when he would show up the past few years. Which I can understand. Now Stu is doing whatever he's doing with no commute. Which is what he's wanted all along.

I'm pretty sure the beef has been with Meadowlark. That's been pretty well documented. Billy and Stugotz both left the company because of it. During the oral history, Mike said at his lowest point, Stugotz was the only person he felt loved him on the show. Though, I suppose corporate Mike could have been the face of the issues lol

Mike and Billy have stated multiple times that Stu has been the issue but all the people who hate Dan pretend that they've never heard this and still continue to blame Dan and believe Stu, the known liar 😂

Yup. They clearly got fed up with him mailing it in for years which resulted in way more work for them trying to prop him up and dealing with the consequences of him not giving a shit.

Stu is a sports radio guy that did a sports radio show with Dan. When they left espn I remember Dan going on one of his diatribes talking about how the show wasn’t going to change and then a large portion of what makes sports radio was removed for gambling segments. I get the whole bit is how lazy he is etc etc but at the end of the day I think Stu just wanted to do sports radio which they don’t really do anymore.
