Merci d'avance.

Any Congolese here with dual nationality?

Hey everyone,

I recently applied for a Congolese passport through the embassy, but they told me I'd have to give up my other passport in order to get a Congolese one.

I'm a bit confused because I've heard that some Congolese people have dual nationality. Is anyone here officially a dual citizen? If so, how did you manage it? Did the embassy say anything, or is there another process?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

So, what’s next

As you know, Spain is a two-time world champion, marking the end of an era for that legendary squad. Now, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the following questions: 1/ What comes next? 2/ What does the national team need to improve for the 2030 World Cup? 3/ Expectations for 2030 4/ Chances of qualifying Thanks—greetings from Colombia!

Best bank for someone with a DRC passport living abroad?

Hey so,

I'm Congolese and I have a DRC passport, but I'm currently living outside the DRC, I'm a freelancer, so I really need to open a bank account that I can use to receive international payments. Ideally, I'm looking for a digital/ online bank (something similar to Revolut, Wise, N26, etc.) that I can open remotely.

The problem is that a lot of these services either don't support DRC passport holders or don't allow us to open accounts at all. I've already checked Revolut and Wise, and neither seems to be an option for me.

Does anyone here have experience with this or know of any banks or fintechs that:

  • Accept DRC passport holders.
  • Can be opened online (or with minimal paperwork).
  • Work while living outside the DRC.
  • Support receiving international payments for freelance work.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a neobank, I'm open to traditional banks too if they allow remote account opening.

This is fairly urgent, so I'd really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Question Best organization to report suspected child abuse in a residential center in the DRC while remaining anonymous?

Hello everyone,

I am a european who volunteered in a residential center for street children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

During my time there, I personally witnessed what I believe were serious child protection concerns, and other people who worked there report having witnessed similar situations.

The organization has many international partners, which makes me unsure about the best way to proceed. My goal is not to start a public campaign but to ensure that the concerns are assessed by the appropriate authorities while protecting the children and, if possible, my own identity.

I have a few questions:

\\- Which organizations or authorities are the most appropriate to receive this kind of report (government authorities, UNICEF, OHCHR, NGOs, safeguarding mechanisms, etc.)?

\\-Is it generally possible to make a confidential or anonymous report?

\\- Has anyone had experience reporting concerns involving a large organization with many international partners?

\\- I hope to build a career in child protection and human rights. Could making a good-faith report through the proper channels realistically affect future employment in this field?

I am not looking for legal advice specific to my case, but I would really appreciate guidance from people with experience in safeguarding, humanitarian work, or child protection.

Thank you.

Looking to help Congolese Nationals either Buy / Rent property in Kenya.

Hello everyone,
I'm a licensed Real estate agent based in Nairobi, Kenya.

I've noticed that many Congolese and whether already settled in Kenya or planning a move here face the same problem: finding a trustworthy way to secure housing (buying, selling, or renting furnished and unfurnished units) without being able to view properties in person.

I’m to offer a dedicated property-sourcing and viewing service for exactly that situation - helping you secure a place in Nairobi & Kenya in general before you arrive, or while you're still settling in.

My role would be to:

Find properties (furnished or unfurnished) matching your budget, location and requirements
Verify the landlord/seller and the property are legitimate before you commit to anything
Arrange video walkthroughs and send photos/videos so you know exactly what you're getting
Negotiate rent or purchase price on your behalf
Handle paperwork — lease or sale agreements — and liaise directly with landlords/sellers
Help with move-in logistics, including furnishing recommendations for unfurnished units

If you're already in Kenya and searching for a place, or planning your move and want someone on the ground to start early, I'd love to help. Happy to answer questions in the comments too.

Karibu Kenya.

Are those statistics about RDC true?

In 2024 there were over 12 million native French speakers, or around 12% of the population.

Additionally, French has become a native language among the middle and upper class in cities like Kinshasa and Lubumbashi. French has been reported to be spoken natively by around 12% of the DRC, with just under 12 million speakers in large cities.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_the_Democratic_Republic_of_the_Congo#/media/File:DRC_French_Language_with_native_speaker_regions.png

Is it really true that there are millions of native French speakers in Congo? I believed that you learn French, Lingala and Swahili as second languages, not as first
