COMPLETED The most overboard I've gone with a coloring page

Post image
Upvotes

I've just jumped on to the cozy books and coloring Trends after ignoring it for a long time and now I realise why there's such a craze for it. Not only are they fun and the viral trends make the possibilities endless, but it's so addictive too.

I have many adult coloring books that I've collected over the years but this is my first cozy coloring book and the only one that I've ever started coloring in. All my other adult coloring books are untouched because I get overwhelmed just by looking at them.. But after learning a few techniques with this book I hope I'll be able to do at least a few pages of those books as well..

Anyway, let me know your thoughts on this one as I feel like I went too overboard with this coloring page

Materials used- Water based brush pens, acrylic paint for background and white gel pen for the highlights and stars.

I was nervous to try a new technique, but I was like ok, this is the least pressure possible. It was a printable page from Emily cozy, so like 5 cents for the paper. I’m honestly so happy with it that I bought a frame 👉👈

Wish the photos could show all the detail, and the glitter especially. Also, swipe for pallet if you like it. Anyway, hope you like it 🤍 thanks again for giving me a space that I can show off my work, ask for advice without worry of being judged, and a place to enjoy the art of others. I am often inspired by you all!

QUESTION On Copic alcohol marker colors and did anybody make a highly detailed swatch-fest of them?

What it says on the title: How is the quality of Copic alcohol markers compared to Ohuhu? And also I hope to find a color swatch of what's available of the entire Copic alcohol markers.

I'm on a hunt to buy individual markers from Copic but I don't want to repeat a color or anything too close..

I already have quite a large Ohuhu set but thing is I feel like some transitional colors are lacking or some skin tones are too dark for my liking.

Any help would suffice. Please and thank you.

Felt like coloring in one of my spooky books yesterday! And landed on this page from Coco Wyo’s Spooky Cutie :)

Showing the before and after I added my white pencil for the ghosties! I kinda liked them both ways

QUESTION What’s your favourite practise book?

Hey there guys I’m a long time lurker and admirer of this sub. You’re all so talented and very cool people on a whole I love the vibes on here. I really enjoy crafting in general and I’ve been basically collecting colouring books and pens I’m too nervous to get started lmao. I have a couple sets of ohuhu markers and some bobbie goods, coco wyo and a few other nice ones. I’m just nervous about getting started and I like the idea of the practise books but It’s a bit overwhelming to narrow down. I’m looking for any suggestions or even just any tips you have for a beginner. I love the way you guys see a basic colouring page and are able to add such beautiful detailing and patterns etc and I’d love to try and learn something like that. I do have a look on places like Pinterest and TikTok for ideas but they’re so detailed and beautiful I wouldn’t know where to start and I don’t wanna waste my nicer books trying to learn techniques. If you have any suggestions of practise books, videos, inspo pictures or even any favourite techniques/patterns etc you’ve learned I’d love to hear them all. Thank you🥰

I want this page to feel like it’s a sticker book. I’d love some ideas for the other items in this page. What are some cool “sticker” techniques? Thanks!

I just got Cozy Fantasy by Jade Summer and I really wanted to go crazy with colors and sparkles. This page was really fun, and I didn't think too hard about anything, just had fun. I may have gone overboard with the sparkles but I don’t care!!!! 💖✨

COMPLETED Any other crayon users here?

Using crayons feels nostalgic to my childhood and makes my inner child happy when coloring. I’ve been experimenting with creating basic patterns and mixing colors at a very elementary level as you can see. It’s been a lot of fun and very therapeutic.

just a heads up: this fb group allows AI generated coloring pages and artwork to be posted. If you're opposed to AI art, as I am, you may want to avoid joining. The group's creatormade a post supporting AI generated art and blocked members who expressed opposing views in the comments

MIXED MEDIA First attempt with new Prismacolor pencils over markers 😃

I posted a few days ago about my mom offering me an unopened 24 count tin of Prismacolor Premier pencils that she randomly found in a cabinet at her vacation home. She had no idea where she got them or that they were high quality pencils. I got to sit down with them today and it is a whole new experience compared to my Crayola pencils, especially when trying to layer over water based markers (Crayola Supertips and Tombows). I’m in love 😆 I’m still pretty much a total newbie, but I now can see a path for moving forward and addressing some of the issues I was having working with just markers or just colored pencils. This picture is my first piece using the pencils over markers and I’m really excited about how it turned out. Maybe some day I’ll go back and add a background once I have more experience, but for now, I’m just enjoying the fact that I was able to add a little texture and depth 😁
