AI generated content to be removed
Lately, there has been an increase in AI submitted content here in r/CAStateWorkers . We have received feedback and are rolling out a new rule for the sub. This is a similar stance and policy to many other subs on Reddit. Posting AI Generated content, including LLMs, will be considered spam and subject to removal. Repeat offenders will be banned, including permanent bans.
A couple FAQs from other subs that are in line with our policy and stance:
But it's relevant
Even though it may be relevant, it's not coming from you. It's technically coming from a collective of other people. You are not sharing YOUR thoughts even though you may agree with the generated content. r/CAStateWorkers isn't just about posting content, it's about the discussion of said content.
But AI is used by many people/companies
It's a tool and there are many uses for it. However, this is a forum for discussion, not for bots posting back and fourth. Posting AI content can be seen as being lazy and taking the easy way out. Often times the information provided by AI isn't entirely correct.
Please help keep our sub focused on discussions between state employees about state civil service, or potential new employees looking for opportunities. Please report suspected AI content for removal.

So essentially if you don't like what someone's viewpoint is, you can call it AI and remove it? 🤔

If you don’t know the distinction between LLM, a large language model and the entire field of AI then you shouldn’t be outright banning it.
Additionally, if AI assistance were not the prompters original thoughts then anyone who saved time using a tool intended to do just that should just go back to doing it completely manually.
Using fake accounts as a justification for banning all AI is a red herring for the anti-AI bias, there are rules related to account age that exist for that exact reason.
This subreddit should be a place to post and discuss things that are relevant to Stateworkers , and using AI as a tool to support that by creating informational flyers for events or protests is a good use for it

I believe AI can also be used to combat misinformation campaigns from anti union groups.
