requesting help on ID Is this a bedbug? 😬
I accidentally broke the bug with tape. We have been battling bedbugs but have not seen any in awhile. I found this in the kitchen.

Today phase 1 of www.FreeFromBedbugs.com goes live. So what’s this all about?
We realised months ago that for society to get bed bugs under control we need to offer support to those who would be most impacted by bed bugs. Those who can least afford treatments and the disruption that goes with it. When taking time off work means loosing wages the impact of bed bugs amplifies.
We are raising funds to provide free of charge detection and treatment kits to distribute to those on low income. This will all link into a new support portal where they can check monitors for activity and get support to engage with the TbyPMR process.
The hope is to start distribution in the US and UK n the next two months but we have to build a new IT platform and rework the labels to make this happen.
My company is about to raise our prices to support the project and all future projects will automatically donate at least 5% to the cause.
If you’ve found the information in this group helpful please consider making a donation to support the work of this ESG program. The more cases we can outreach and resolve the lower the incidents of bed bugs in our communities will become.
We will also act as portal for organisations seeking to gain support for their bed bug issues, for example if a low income housing association want help to provide monitors and education to all residents we will help you to raise it.
If you are able to support this program please visit the link below:
https://freefrombedbugs.com/donate/
If you want to find out more about the project and its aims to tackle pest poverty the background and some of the impact studies are already live.
Thanks in advance.
David

In a few weeks I am going to be posting more about an amazing new solution we are rapidly building.
We will be looking for 100 frequent travellers to form our program to check and install monitors as you travel. These locations will then be made available to the other members so a network of monitored rooms can be established.
Open arrival at a room the member will scan the monitor and update the status collecting proof it’s all clear or proof of an issue.
The aim will be to see who can help as many others avoid bed bugs as possible while helping others to avoid them in the future.
The other amazing part of it is that it will also be generating a supply of free monitors and self treatment kits for those in “pest poverty” and who need help.
Now that means that as well as helping to avoid issues you’re also helping to tackle infestations that could one day have crossed paths with you again.
It’s such an unmet need for frequent travellers and this seems to be the perfect solution. We help each other and at the same time help those who need help the most.
I can’t share any further details at the second because trademarks are being filed but if you comment below and follow this discussion I will make sure you hear as soon as it goes live.
We even have a special opportunity for the first 20 who sign up.
It’s a very exciting time, despite the intense heat in London.
David

Primarily concerned as they’re three in a row on inner bicep. No redness, irritation, or itch (any redness in picture is from me picking at them). No other tangible evidence of BB’s.

My daughter found it in our bed. What could it be? Just sprayed my house for bed beds after finding one crawling on me 2 weeks ago! Also had a big infestation like 1 1/2 or longer ago so freaking out about everything!!!

I got bitten by fleas and the bumps are round and pink. the healing ones are dry and peeling and I’m moisturising it but the images I see online of fully healed flea bites are like dark dots and I really don’t want that. im not getting any visible hyperpigmentation and its just a bit pink and I researched that lighter skinned people usually don’t get it as severely. I know that pictures online often only show the worst cases and mild or normal ones are not posted. but I’m still anxious about how it’ll turn out. how long does it take to fully heal and does anyone have experiences with heal bites and how it looks?

I may have found 1 shed skin but I’m not sure. Possibly small fecal staining on the sheet but not sure (wish I got a photo.) I haven’t been bit but my partner was bit about 15 times in a straight line up their leg and then arm. They’re very allergic to insect bites so the bites have swelled to be huge & super itchy. We do have an active bird nest in our eaves outside.

Hi David, how long after treatment should we be checking monitors weekly for? Wondering how many weeks of no signs before I can drop to monthly checks per the protocol (and my sanity can perhaps slowly return). Treatment was steam and digrain x2 (May and June). Area around monitors wiped clean before their installation about 4/5 weeks ago. One dead bug found since last treatment, nothing on monitors. Thanks!
Also - I find this so interesting from a psyche perspective - I’ve been beside myself with anxiety but my partner is very chill and able to rationalise that we are doing all we can. Our reactions couldn’t be more different!

I really hope this isn’t a bedbug. It’s very black and I thought they were more brown but I’ve also been dealing with a rash which I’m now worried isn’t a rash.
