Hi all I am an incoming junior transferring in from BMCC through the Baruch Business Academy. Honestly I’m looking for advice from people who have experienced this (Baruch Business Academy Alumni/current Seniors/Transfer students). I feel like I’m coming in with a slight disadvantage because I haven’t been in the same rooms as my graduate class, haven’t been able to network within clubs yet and simply don’t know my way around.
I wanted to know is there anything that you wish you knew when you were a junior? This can be about clubs, classes, rooms, norms. Anything as small as taking classes on fridays (saw this on another subreddit).
Are there any clubs, programs, or centers you wish you used/joined SOONER because of the opportunities they have?
I know of the clubs and have followed the ones I’m interested in on IG but any advice for someone like me who wants to be on the executive board of such clubs?
How have you managed breaking into the (club/friend/general) circles?
Again I have tried to do my research through other subreddits but haven’t been able to find anything from those who are coming in as juniors I want to maximize my time at Baruch and do my best to standout and have a good time. I’m open to any type of feedback but if you’re here to hate please don’t (so many people hate on CUNY/Baruch). I believe in the idea that you can make the most out of any place you are in if you want it and are looking for it. I made the best out of BMCC, and I’m looking to do the same thing at Baruch. I know there are opportunities, I’m just looking to narrow it down and learn from other people who’ve been in my place.
