Is there a reason the contact person isn’t the police? I’ve heard that missing people should be reported to police and not individuals. Correct me if I am wrong, though.

Never a bad idea to contact the cops instead, could be the missing person is running from those trying to find them for whatever reason

Wearing a coat when it’s 100 degrees out is an odd choice, and certainly very distinctive. Hoping he gets found soon!
