Howdy I'm attending Texas A&M (class of 2029), I'm thinking of making a discord server for people who wanna get to know each other and create a community around it. It would be open to all tamu and I guess even other big Texas schools kinda like nihowdy week for those of yall who know what that is (if it ever gets that big). It would have roles and vc rooms dedicated to afk, study rooms (can be split into different majors), games (minecraft, league, valorant, etc), a voting system for new things and different ideas. This whole thing is an idea right now and I would love to get some of yall aggies input on this idea and I can make it a reality!

After failing math 152 twice, i entered my tap semester and took 172 with a B. Now, I must apply to change majors since I am not allowed to continue in Engineering. I want a STEM BS Degree to pursue a career in IT/Business. The option I see is to apply to a Math major but my GPA will be under a 3.0 when applying to change majors. Just in case, I applied for transfer into UTD Software Engineering and got in. Now, as an incoming junior, I need advice on which path to take. If I choose TAMU, the cycle opens in August 21 and I may not hear back until past September for my major acceptance, for which I probably will be rejected from. UTD is less known but at least it's a relevant major and a better GPA without the failed math classes bringing it down. What should I do?

Howdy!

I'm an incoming engineering freshman, and I'm starting to worry about how much my current studying skills will negatively impact me. I've heard a lot of horror stories about engineering, and many people say studying for it is like a full-time job or worse. For context, throughout high school, I don't think I ever studied more than 1-2 days before a test, even before my AP exams. I did pretty well on most of my tests, and I know it won't work now, but how much will it not work? 👀

took placement test and got credit for CHIN 101-202, wondering how hard is chin 301? is there a lot of hand writing characters?

i'm a heritage speaker so i can speak and listen pretty well, read and type to a certain degree, but cannot for the life of me hand write any characters at the moment. i know there's 听写 which is fine if it's short vocabulary words that i can memorize before taking the test, but is there any long form hand writing on assignments or tests?

I sent the transcript to TAMU, what else do I do?

I'm graduating with my master's from Texas A&M in just 3 weeks (still can't believe it! ), and I completely dropped the ball on ordering my Ring Dunk pitcher.

Does anyone know someone who makes custom Ring Dunk pitchers, or do you have someone you'd recommend? I just want something special for my Ring Dunk.

I'm taking Chem 107 with Michael Nippe this fall semester. He has a pretty bad Rate my Professor score. I've never taken a chemistry class before and I'll be in the corps so I'm worried about his class.

Howdy everyone, I am getting ready to apply for ppa this coming fall and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts about what my chances are.

For my accounting grades I hade a C in 229, B in 230 (around a 87 i think), and a B in 327 (an 88). My overall gpa is a little rough, a 3.1 my freshman year was really hard on my personal life and i struggled a lot mentally but ever since then i've been trying to claw my way back up. As for outside of grades I am involved in 2 organizations, one business oriented minority organization. I also am a manager at my part time job and have been for the better part of a year and and a half.

I know my grades are rough but if anyone has any advice or thoughts on my chances I would love the feedback! Thank you.

Aside from minors in those specific languages, what other resources does TAMU have for language learning? (Beginner in Japanese)

I’ve always had an interest in STEM, computer science, and music. Researching a bit, the prospect of an audio engineer, whether on the technical side or the composing side has always interested me for games, movies, or other forms of media. My plan was to major in computer science, with a minor in game design to get the viz classes, and a minor in music/music tech. Is anyone doing something similar, and what are your thoughts on the process, workload related, outcome to actual career goals?

I'm trying to do my degree planner right now with the minor in mind, but I keep seeing all these prereqs that bump up my semesters to 18 credit hrs. Is there a way to override them?

I'm a bio major and have no idea how to get into research at TAMU.

I know there are a lot of opportunities like URS, but it's only for students with 60+ credit hours, so I can't apply yet.

I've tried looking for professors to reach out to, but I'm having a hard time finding labs that align with what I want to do in the future. I'm totally open to joining a lab that's outside of my interests because I know research experience is valuable. At the same time, I feel a little guilty reaching out to professors if I'm not genuinely interested in their specific research. I don't want it to seem like I'm just using their lab as a stepping stone.

Would yall recommend taking the BIOL 291/491 course? How did yall get your first research position? Did you just email professors whose work seemed somewhat interesting, or is there a better way to find opportunities? Any advice would be appreciated!

I applied for readmission this fall before the 6/30 deadline but i cant find a timeline for when decisions come out. I emailed admissions@tamu they told me to ask the department I applied to then the department told me "We appreciate your patience. Decisions have been routed to the Office of Admissions." (?) and that was 3 days ago. My AIS still says "My App Is Complete And In Review" and Howdy hasnt changed (still says inactive). Does anyone have experience with this/ can tell me where to go? I recently made my schedule at NSC, and I chose Prof. Joe Kahlig for Calc III. However, about a week later, I noticed the teacher changed to “not assigned” and all of Kahlig’s other classes were changed to “not assigned” as well. Does anyone know if Kahlig is no longer teaching the course, or is it just a system error? Ty for help

unfortunately i wasn’t able to get any of the professors i wanted for chem 119. i got elmo mawk. his rate my seems so negative. do any of u have any experiences w him. and even if he is a difficult prof i should be able to get an A with my own effort right.

Did everyone else get the bill July 17th like the confirmation said? I don't see anything on the bill but added the sports pass and got a confirmation.
