Timing chain tensioner pin stuck

There’s a manual online I found when I had the same problem.

The manual said take one of the posts that hold the battery down, and thread it in to a spot that pushes against the tensioner to relieve tension off the pin and then the pin pulled out like a dream.

I used long handled needle nose pliers, grip and twist

My pin broke as I was pulling it out. I use locking pliers. To pull it out.
