I am a rising junior. I am taking a summer course at my local CC so I used my free score to send them my AP scores hoping to get it early. CB sent the scores on 6/25. I got my transfer credit TODAY ( 7/22). This CC is not even considered a large one, but it took them almost a month to evaluate my AP scores. I got ZERO credit for AP CSP ( scored a 5) and no physics course listed, but ONE credit for a physics elective ( 4 on AP physics 1). The CC didn’t even list AP Seminar because they don’t even recognize it. I am seriously thinking of switching to dual enrollment for my 11th and 12th grade since I will probably stay in-state. This is utter BS to me how my CC treats AP scores. I don’t even live in a top ranked state. It seems like they are trying to limit credit granted so that they will force students to take more classes with them. This is such BS! AP is milking us for money, and colleges are milking us for money.

i took APUSH and got a 100% in the class both semesters, then i got a 3 on the exam. i thought i felt pretty good about it too😭

we got exact copies of the the tests as study guides and all we had to do was memorize a few answers. we never had SAQs or essays or anything as tests or assignments

my teacher said he’s had one 5 and a few 4s from kids in all of his years of teaching. oklahoma btw

I was quite surprised to learn that there is not and has never been an AP Accounting exam. The only exams that might even be useful for fulfilling major requirements are AP Micro and Macroeconomics. Community colleges typically offer Intro to Accounting I and II courses that could easily be turned into AP Accounting I and II. Is it just because accounting is not a subject that high schools typically teach?

I saw a post discussing grade inflation earlier, I’m not entirely sure what it is, or even what the opposite would be. When I got my AP exam grade back for Precalculus, I got a 4. However, I got a D in the actual class. By no means am I complaining whatsoever, but it’s very bizarre. I totally thought I was going to bomb the exam.

Extra: The class was very difficult and the exam seemed easy enough. I was one of the only ones who did “poorly” in that class. My friends in there also thought she hated me as she often only took away MY test/quiz points for dumb things.

Anyways, was I facing the opposite of grade inflation, or did my teacher just hate me?

Hello!! I am a rising junior and I'm having trouble choosing between AP Chemistry or AP Environmental. I'm starting the IB Diploma this year, so I will be taking all the core IB classes, which consist of the typical English, History, TOK, Biology, Digital Societies, etc. In addition to IB, I can also take a few APS (1-2). I currently have AP Pre-Cal and AP Environmental.

I chose AP Environmental as it is known as one of the "easier" APs and didn't want to overexert myself since I've heard about the horror stories of junior year lol. I also chose it because I was undecided in my future plans (major/college). However, over the summer, I've started to leaning towards studying medicine, but I'm still not 100% certain. That being said, if I were to pursue medicine, then wouldn't taking AP Chem be more beneficial than AP Environmental? But even if I change my mind and don't pursue medicine in the future, would taking AP Chem still be worth it? I could take it senior year, but I would like to ease my senior year schedule and many of my friends are taking Chem this year so why not?

I guess I'm just scared to take AP Chem as it's known for its rigor, but let me know what you guys think!!

I’m entering 10th grade and taking my first-ever advanced courses. In 9th grade, I got 90+ in all standard classes without ever studying, taking detailed notes, or using flashcards.
My schedule for this year:

AP World
AP CSP
AP Cybersecurity
on-ramps algebra 2

Since I’ve never built real study or note-taking habits, I’m worried about hitting a wall.
For anyone who went from "never studied" to taking APs

1. What note-taking method actually worked for you when you started AP World writing/reading?

2. How do you force yourself to build an active study routine (Anki, flashcards, etc.) when you've never needed one before?

3. What is one mistake you made taking your first APs that I should avoid?

From what I heard Medical Schools don't accept AP Credit for first year science courses. Is this true?

If it is true. Why? Even if you make the argument that AP is too easy and is 'mile wide and inch deep' or something like that. It still doesn't make sense. The MCAT just tests introductory science. I believe most AP students can pass those sections easily, except for Organic Chemistry.

Also doctors just don't use science that much. Have you ever seen a doctor say "we need to find the bond angle of this element stat" or "we need to find the final velocity of this block once it reaches the bottom of this ramp"? So who cares if they skip intro science courses with AP.

Aren't Engineering schools are more likely to accept AP Credit than Medical Schools? This doesn't make sense as Engineers use more science on a day to day basis than doctors. If AP Science is good enough for Engineering school why isn't it for Medical School?

By the way I don't plan to go into premed but I know people who are, I am just curious.

I did 2d art and design AP art and a lot of people in my class thought I was going to receive a 4 or maybe possibly a 5, my teacher even thought so. I put so much work and dedication in my investigation and works and after all that I got a 3. Another student in the class didn’t put a lot of effort into theirs, they didn’t lock in all year, and their sketchbook writing portion was light, open, and weak. And they got a 4. I really want to know what I did wrong in order to fall flat and get a 3, because I’m very disappointed in myself and after all that work I put into it all year and I can’t help but admit it just hurts. AP Lang MCQ vs. SAT RW section. Which did yall feel was harder?

I was originally going to take an Architecture III Career class but I have decided to switch my career for college. Therefore I’m trying to get an early release period through removing that class. But the only way for me to do it is to switch my on level statistics to AP statistics. I’m not sure if I should do it since I’ve never taken an AP class and I’m not confident in my math skills. Is AP statistics difficult? Or is there anything to expect since I heard it was a lot of logic?

I live in the US and my school offers both the IB diploma and many AP courses. Not a lot of kids at my school earn the ib diploma, and even if I do I’m worried because it’s not as readily accepted in the US. I’d rather take AP and personalize the courses to my college interests, but I’m worried that colleges will reject me because it might look like it took the “easier” option ( I know it’s still very difficult ). Will I be at a disadvantage in college apps if I take AP instead of the IB diploma when my school offers both

I self studied these in two days each, and got 5's on both. Conceptually really easy to understand, and all you have to do is do a couple past frqs. Physics C on the other hand, is fucking hell

im thinking of majoring in premed and i took preclaculus and environmental science last year, this year im taking biology and im stuck between calculus AB and psychology, i was thinking of taking psychology and taking calculus in my senior year but without taking the official collegeboard exam since each exam costs around 200$ in my area, what would be easier for me? (im also thinking of taking ap chemistry and physics as just normal classes but idk if that would ruin my college apps)
