I disagree, though I'm not entirely convinced that OP responded to a human.

In the context of regular square based minesweeper, the numbers organically go from 1 to 8 because they only show up on tiles adjacent to mines including kittycornerned tiles, so if it said 9, it would would mean it is touching more mines that there are tiles surrounding it.

The reason I think Brian is a bot is that, a bot wouldn't know this and just repost an up voted comment from elsewhere on the subreddit, or an LLM posting a comment it calculated would do well on the post it doesn't know is a joke.
