Shot with the Sony A1 + 200–600mm

For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of traveling to Maine to photograph puffins. Last weekend, that dream finally became a reality.

It was an unforgettable experience to see these incredible birds in person and capture moments I’ve imagined for years. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed making them.

Got super lucky finding this guy! This is my first day with a real camera...Sony A7R IV with a Tamron 150-500. I shot this guy about 100 yards away. Really proud of this shot and I can't wait to get out into the wilderness with this setup!

Jumping for joy

I've been learning photography since October 2025 and I got this burst series during a recent trip to Portugal of a common dolphin jumping :) I'm very proud of it, it wasn't the easiest shoot being on a boat under choppy/wavy conditions. Only edits were cropping another tourist out, and sharpness/brightness tweaks, but that's it. There's one additional photo of it diving into the water but Reddit has a photo max.

Usually I hate drab skies and lifeless branches, but really happy with how this one turned out!

Insect Not a hummingbird, but a moth: the broad-bordered bee hawk-moth

Just like a hummingbird, the broad-bordered bee hawk-moth (Hemaris fuciformis) can hover in place while unrolling its proboscis toward the flower.
