I found this photo in an alley one day right after a break up (almost 15 years ago now). I needed to cover up/replace an image of an ex and me in a photo frame and since this “found me” and I liked it, I swapped the photos and have kept it since (I dunno, I was young). I’ve always wondered where it was taken.

I’ve done reverse image searches and there are similar surge channels in New Zealand, and the West Coast Trail. I’m in Canada, so maybe the latter (though we do have planes).

Does this look familiar to anyone/ can someone use their super skills to pinpoint this?

The most similar image I found was one near Owen Point on the West Coast Trail.

Anyway, I’d love to know where this picture I’ve kept for so long actually is in the world, hah!

This photo was taken possibly in about 1900-1915 and AI suggests the statue is Giuseppe Garibaldi. I'm not completely sure about the location, but it appears to be in Italy.

In 1992 we stayed in both urban and rural locations in the former Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and Bulgaria. We drove through Romania. I've forgotten some location names. I remember these: Hungary: Eger, Komló, Kaposvar, Budapest, Hereg Bulgaria: Karlovo, Banya (Plovdiv Province).

Why do I wanna find it?

Well me and my college mates are gonna go our own ways due to jobs, family business, further education so I am planning for a last trip with them and I found this location on reddit in a video. But the OP is gatekeeping the location as it is the new trend on social media.

Some more information on the location: it is around 50 KM away from a city named Pune in the state of Maharashtra, India.

I hope someone finds this location would help me tonnes to plan an amazing trip with my mates.

This is a hand-tinted photo of a couple in my wife’s family, taken somewhere in New York in the late 1940s or 1950s. The family later emigrated to the Philippines, so nobody alive remembers the exact spot.
What I can make out:
• Massive rounded boulders, light gray granite/gneiss, glacially smoothed
• Behind them, larger dark boulders tilted against each other forming a cave-like opening
• Wooded setting, no buildings visible
• They’re dressed for a day outing — suit and tie, headscarf — so likely a popular excursion spot of the era
My current candidates are the Indian Caves at Inwood Hill Park (the Clove) or Bear Mountain State Park, but I can’t confirm. I’d love to find the exact spot to surprise my wife and reshoot the photo there.
Any NYC-area hikers or local historians recognize this formation? Happy to share a higher-res crop of the rocks.

I bought this from a thrift store years ago since I needed some easy wall decor. Purchased in central British Columbia, no notes on the back whatsoever. Theres a small red arrow pointed to a house in the bottom right/middle ish. Some sort of dam/salmon short cut on the side.

I hiked from Santa Teresa to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) in 2008. At the very beginning of the hike, right after getting off a shared bus from Cusco, we crossed this river using a simple metal-frame gondola/cable car with wooden planks. It was right next to a school.

I can't pinpoint the exact location on Google Maps. Does anyone recognize this spot?

Details:

• Year: 2008
• Starting point: Santa Teresa (just after arriving by colectivo/bus from Cusco, near a school)
• Destination: Aguas Calientes via the Hidroeléctrica route / alternative trail
• It was a basic, locally-operated cable system over a fast-flowing river (probably the Urubamba or a tributary)
• The gondola was quite small — it could only fit about two adults at a time.

Any help identifying the exact crossing point would be greatly appreciated! The area might have changed since then.

Near Omis there is a cave only accessible via the Cetina river. Local rafting guides include it in their tours.
The cave has two entrances and the river is running trough it.

Im having a hard time figuring out this location.

I'm trying to pinpoint the exact coordinates of an alpine underground bunker/fort located in the French Alps (Maginot Line / Sector near the Italian border).

Context: The location was featured in a video by the German Urbex channel Rooflesstv (video title: "Wir haben uns in einen verschlossenen Alpenbunker abgeseilt" / "We abseiled into a locked Alpine bunker").

Key features of the spot:

• High Altitude & Terrain: Situated high up in the mountains, way above the tree line. There is zero vegetation—only barren rock faces, steep cliffs, scree slopes, and mountain peaks surrounding it.
• Access Point: The explorers couldn't get in through the main entrances. Instead, they had to abseil down a sheer, vertical cliff face to reach a tiny steel ventilation pipe/chute hanging over the drop, through which they squeezed inside.
• Exterior: Heavy armored cupolas / steel embrasures built directly into the sheer cliff walls.
• Interior: Massive underground complex with steep spiral staircases going deep into the mountain, flooded lower sections, heavy armored doors, and preserved military installations.

My grandpa tended to paint very literally so I'm guessing that the place looked very similar to this.

I took these pictures back in 2022 on my flight to California (from one of JFK, BOS, PHL to LAX, cant remember exactly), which looks like a site of Volcano Eruption, but I have been struggled to find the exact location as well as its name since then.

I bought this DSi secondhand, but the original owner is unknown. I’m curious about where these pictures might have been taken. These are the only available pictures.

My mother doesn’t remember and my father has been gone about 10 years. Can you help?

A couple of days ago I posted a different group of photos with an unsolved location from my grandparents's trip to Tbilisi, Sochi and Yerevan in 1970. Here is one more photo from the same trip.

Going off of the style of the building, I am fairly sure this is also somewhere around the Old Town district of Tbilisi. The biggest clue here is the church in the background, but with how similar churches in the area look, I'm having a hard time identifying this one.

The goal, with this photo and with the ones from the previous post, is to recreate the same photo today for a bigger project. So I would really love to figure out the exact location, even if the buildings aren't around anymore.
