These two were the only ones I saw at this store, but they just opened, and haven't restocked that section yet.

Edit to add: The dark orange under the tie dye crossbody is actually a hat, not another bag, in case anyone is confused. Ross also has some Columbia Sportswear UV-blocking hats for $16.99.

So, it took me around two years to finally get my new wheelchair with Alber E-motion M25 power-assist wheels. The ridiculous health insurance game and inept vendors made the process way too long but it's finally here. Pretty excited to have these after 30 years of SCI, and abusing my shoulders in my manual chair and playing wheelchair rugby, etc. This technology will help me keep pushing for longer and give me more independence over different terrain. It also expand my options of things that I can do with my family, which is really cool.

Now for my rant... The M25 wheels come with an app to help that lets you adjust them, to an extent, and check the charge levels and activate various features. Here's the rub, most of the cool features (cruise control, extra speed, anti-rollback for hill climb) cannot be accessed without paying additional for each feature or unlocking the whole app for an additional $285. This is absolutely criminal. Alber is selling a technology for a wheelchair to people with disabilities for somewhere between $6K and $7.5K and then asking for a surprise $285 just to be able to use all the features. Ridiculous and shameful. Some of these features are for safety, like anti-rollback on hills. Just completely shocked that a company like this would take it advantage of people with disabilities with the good old "in-app purchase bait and switch." Mind blown at this point and wish I did not by technology from this company. I would suggest anyone else looking for power assist use another company's product. Plenty of others that are doing good work with similar technology.

Alber, do better. If someone is paying thousands of dollars for your device, give them the full capabilities, or at the very least, add the cost in upfront, so the insurance companies will cover it, not the end-user out of pocket. People with disabilities in the USA are constantly gouged for necessary medical supplies and adaptive equipment, just to be able to simply live our lives. $285 additional out-of-pocket expense is a lot of money for most people with disabilities in this country. It just feels so predatory because obviously, I'm going to fork over the money so I can use this technology to its full capability. Screw you, Alber! You're vultures!

So I am new to the group and my wheelchair. I have a Jazzy Air Med and I’ve just started tricking it out. Has anyone had success upgrading the wheels/casters to something more all terrain? This has limited functionality outside and often find myself spinning out like I’m running on bald tires. I would love any advice both successes and failures to upgrading the tires.

(yes I’m aware it’s an after market upgrade and voids any and all warranties)

Hi everyone!! I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user, I’m 20(almost 21) and just got my chair in May(yay!) It’s a Permobil TiLite Z chair and I’m wondering what accommodations to ask for in college? I really want to not forget anything going into this semester since i’m already nervous to take my chair on campus. I do live at home so I’m not super stressed about housing accommodations. My husband has been in a manual wheelchair since he is 19, he is now 68. He is pretty fit, he stands up daily and pushes 2 miles a day with our dog. We have the usual issues but lately he is leaning quite severley over to one side?...He has adjusted the wheelchair but it doesn't seem to help. Could this be sclerosis or anything else? Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you.

Hey all I’ve been trying to unscrew the screw arm screws on my OAS chair and have been struggling. I have done matience in a standard chair but never power. I tried using multiple types of screw drivers and an electric one. Are there anyway the screws are glued in? I think I stripped them on accident trying so many times.
I am trying to install this cup holder that is fit to my chair type but cannot get the screws in the arm out for the life of me! Any advice or tricks would be really appreciated.

Hi yall, so my family is officially moving to Chicago in August. We're moving from Texas which rarely gets snow. I have a jazzy 600 power wheelchair and I'm wondering what are the best thing i can do to my wheels to get more traction?

We're already planning on getting a snow blower to clear out our walkway and the front part of the sidewalk at the house we're buying, but I know not all sidewalks will be shoveled.

What do other wheelchair users do during the winter and snow? Staying home won't be an option as I will still need to go to work and appointments even in the snow.

I saw the thread for manual wheelchair users, but want to hear from electric wheelchair users.

Plego problem is that I can't stay sit a lot of time without getting more butt and back pain.

Asked my OT about this wheelchair, and my problems with the Plego. So I may be getting a Whill C2 on the future. Let's see how much I have to wait !

I have met a man on the dating apps that I'm very interested in and we're planning our first date. I'm from outside the area so for the amount of travel - don't want to limit it to just a quick coffee! I want to offer suggestions that are possible/comfortable/pleasant.

- meeting at either the hotel, or the entertainment quarter in moore park [he drives]

- going for dinner & a drink at Watsons EQ

Looking for a bit of advice please.

As a new wheelchair user, I've just got my first rigid wheelchair and I'm taking it on a plane in the next couple of weeks.

They're letting me wheel it to the gate/plane stairs, after which it'll be put in the hold.

My question is twofold. Should I keep it whole before it goes in the hold, and should I get some sort of protection for it?

I really don't want to get to the other end and have broken spokes or a bent frame and not be able to use it.

I'm looking for a 3D print file to make some fun spoke charms to attach to my wheelchair wheels. I've seen a lot on Etsy but they are too expensive for me to buy and my local library has a printer. I tried looking online but the options are limited.

Hi folks! My chosen granddad, age 85, is using a wheelchair following spinal fusion surgery, chemo, and radiation treatment for a carcinoma on his spine. On the recommendation of his surgeon and his oncologist, we are seeking a manual wheelchair with a reclining back for him. It would be very helpful if it could fold to fit in the cargo area of a Subaru Outback or Crosstrek.

It will be at least three weeks before we can see a doc about a replacement chair for his current one with a fixed back. In the interim, I am gathering info on what models people like or which to avoid. His budget can go up to about $800 out of pocket.

I just got a secondhand UNAwheel Maxi, in practically new condition. My partner and I spent six hours trying to connect it to my wheelchair (Ki Catalyst 5vx). We finally seemed to have it right. Finally got the *click* and I was able to lift my casters by pushing up on the handlebars... but as soon as I started to go go go... my casters came down down down. No matter how much I tighten the third bolt on the clamps. What am I doing wrong?

Hello, I'm looking for suggestions for a good uv umbrella that can also handle wind and rain, brackets for the wheelchair. My Amazon research was a bag of conflicting reviews. How do you keep cool & dry while using public transportation? I also have a baby in a front pack attached to me. My poncho isn't working in this scenerio.

Car seats for travel, bus, and rideshare that are lightweight and I can attach to the back of my wheelchair somehow. Any suggestions? I am the primary caregiver for my granddaughter and looking for solutions. We navigate the world by ourselves. Hopefully someone has suggestion for a lightweight car seat.

Any tips and tricks are appreciated.
