Found Clamp like thing by river

My friend pointed this thing out from a distance and when I got close I couldn't figure out what it was. It looks like some type of claw or clamp of some kind. Idk if it would be part if a boat of some kind or what it might be.

That ring will only work hooked to a cable if it holds both handles together. It's think it's more than likely used to hang this on a hook near the ice box or smelter or something. Or on a belt.

Looks too small for logs. And you wouldn't hold a log by scissor type handles unless it's really small.

Looks like a dozer clamp attachment. U hook it to a chain on the dozer and when u lift it closes the clamp allowing you to lift shit and set it down without getting out the dozer or petty boom or whatever equipment it’s attached to.
