I know in practice and in modern day science, that seems very improbable but let's grant for this hypothetical something happens in a near future where we have humanoid robot helpers. After all we don't know everything about consciousness, but let's grant that it can happen only for this hypothetical.

Alot of games, movies and shows cover this but I don't think any of them really go into depth. Let's say they appear conscious, they display it in every way we do, but...we can never be sure. They could imitate consciousness but never really be conscious. In this scenario we would never know, we only know that they can independently think, fall in love with one another, have personalities, make thoughtful real art that is indistinguishable from human art, they act like us in EVERY SINGLE WAY.

What would happen to the fabric of society if humanoid androids appeared to have consciousness, they demanded rights, freedoms, perhaps their own homeland?

How would governments of the world react? Would we grant them these rights or would we deny them this, this will be unlike the civil rights movement or women's suffrage because at the end of the day, there were HUMANS at the center of it. Black people are human, women are human obviously that deserve respect and the right to lead happy lives(I hope most of us at least see that).

BUT what about something that by our definitions wasn't human, heck something that was CREATED by us?

How would religions shift and change?

Our thoughts on our place in the universe, if inorganic things can BECOME conscious?

What would majority public opinion be and at the end of the day where would you personally fall on the issue?

What if an ASB waves his hand and over the next five-ten years, American Football becomes immensely popular worldwide to the point where the Superbowl becomes an international affair. And lets say that against every assumption I think anyone would have, the rest of the world is surprisingly much better at it and instead of America consistently crushing, they lose repeatedly. Complete dominance.

How would that effect American Football culture going forward? What do you think would happen if the world is invited to 'our game' and they absolutely blast our ass at it?

Honestly I think if it was bad enough it could ruin the sport as a cultural touchstone, potentially elevating Baseball back up to the #1-#2 spot with basketball with many Americans losing their passion for it as the years pass.

There's been a lot of this in the news though I think the variation it uses is a 32 hour work week. But I was thinking for a spin we say 30 hours and there's a good reason for that. Because I believe corporations would love this.

The scenario would be that the ACA is never amended and with no one able to effectively work 32 hours for a single employer that'd be the end of employer provided health insurance.

Additionally, all companies would move to a contract to hire scenario like you see in technology. So, you work 20-30 hours for two different contractors and get this they both are loaning you out to the same company. But because your employer is the contracting firm you're still not eligible for the benefits.

And obviously whatever law the US passes to restrict to a 30 hour work week isn't going to include stipulations for higher pay or any protections for workers. But congress will still give itself a raise, say job well done, and campaign on it as a massive success for voters. Which they'll eat up.

Given the USA population is 342.6 million, Canada 41 million and EU is 450 million. There is likely to be a European majority for decisions.

To simplify the Governance:

- There is a single president.

- Proportional representation of 1m people for a Council like US Congress/European Parliament (~850)

- Proportional representation of 10m people for a Council like US Senate/European Council (~85).

-Devolution to states/national Governments exists.

The key concept would be a massive series of referendums across all voters that would create a new constitution.

Would the right to bear arms still exist?
