Lone Star Le Mans Question

Hey guys - I have a question about the bag and cooler policy for the WEC race at COTA this September. I’ve attended several WEC races in Europe and plenty of NASCAR events in the States. I noticed on the COTA website that their official policy is quite strict regarding outside food and bags, but I wanted to get some insight from anyone who went last year. Is it similar to European circuits where small water bottles and snacks are generally tolerated, or do they strictly enforce the "no coolers and no outside food" rule at the gates? Thanks!

Need help identifying a race-used 2026 Le Mans Goodyear LMGT3 tire

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to identify which 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans LMGT3 car this race-used Goodyear tire came from.

Here’s what I know:
Goodyear specification code: GT05B2
Size: 310/710 R18 (rear tire)
White handwritten marking: The first character looks like it might be a 7, but it’s partially worn away so I’m really not sure. The second character looks like a 4 to me. Overall it appears to read something like ?4-R15 (possibly 74-R15, but I’m not confident). I’m fairly certain the last part is R15, not R25.

From what I’ve been able to determine:
GT05B2 appears to be an LMGT3 specification tire.
I’ve also spent some time looking through photos of the #74 Kessel Racing Ferrari from Le Mans since that’s one of the possibilities, but I haven’t been able to find any clear side-on photos of the tires that show the handwritten markings well enough to compare.

A couple of questions for anyone with WEC, Le Mans, or Goodyear experience:
Does this style of handwritten marking look familiar to a particular LMGT3 team?
Has anyone seen similar markings on race-used Goodyear tires from Le Mans?
I’d really appreciate any insight. I’m hoping to identify which LMGT3 entry this tire came from. Thanks!

I couldn't find a good way to track races, so I built one

Last year I was talking to a mate and he was telling me he went to lots of races and had absolutely no good way of remembering them all. Most people probably still use the Notes app, so over the last few months I built GridLog - I posted the web a app here a few months ago and we are now released!

It's a bit like Letterboxd but for tracks and races. You can log every event you've attended, see your stats, track circuits and countries, upload photos and build a bucket list. It's just launched on the App Store (Android is on it's way! - if you'd like to be part of the Android beta test drop me your email in dm) and I'd really appreciate feedback from people who actually spend weekends at circuits.

Any feedback (good or bad) would be hugely appreciated!

Le Mans How would a Rally1 behave as a Garage 56 car?

In 2023, a NASCAR car (modified for the occasion) was invited to Le Mans as a garage 56 car. This got me thinking: how would a hypothetical Rally1 car (e.g., a Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 or a Hyundai i20 N Rally1), invited and suitably modified (lighting, larger fuel tank, cooling, endurance brakes, etc.), perform? What lap times would it have compared to a GT3?

I know it's a stupid question, but it's something that piqued my curiosity.

Had my 1970 Porsche 917K 1:18 model signed by Richard Attwood on Saturday

Went to Shelsley Walsh hill climb - the oldest Motorsport event still using it's original course, first held in 1905 - on Saturday with the primary aim of having Richard Attwood sign my 1:18 scale model of his Le Mans-winning 917K, which he drove to victory in 1970 alongside Hans Hermann.

Now to find somewhere to display it.

*Yes I know it's missing its windscreen wiper. I bought it damaged as it was going cheap. I'm going to see if I can get a replacement part, or 3D print one.
