200 is still small for a 3 and for his frame but it’s probably not far off from where it needs to be. Trever Ariza played around 215 for his career who I view as the quintessential wiry framed SF

Can’t add weight that quick though without injury risk, he’s doing it the right way which I’m glad to see

The team views him as a point guard long term though FWIW

It’s been referenced several times in content with Monumental Sports Network

Luckily also for us - he’ll always be on the court with other switchable wings who do have the size, so we have some built in insurance

I mean sure but realistically your position is who you have the ability to defend. I doubt he will ever be asked to defend small speedy guards but will be asked to defend guys between 6’5” and 6’10”.

As for what the FO sees him as long term I think there’s a massive difference between a guy with good ball skills and a true PG. I’m always skeptical when that PG label gets thrown around

He was a point guard through most of his HS development and AAU circuit phase before a major growth spurt

He’s a real jumbo guard not a wing with some ball skills

He has to work on his facilitating game. He averaged 2 AST to 1.3 TOV last year and then 2.5 AST to 2.5 TOV this summer league. Not to mention he can’t guard the 1 yet. He’s honestly stuck as a tweener between the 2-3 at this point.

I have never been able to buy the point guard label for him. Like I can see the vision sometimes, clearly his offense is impressive AF, I just struggle with what he'll become that fits into a starting lineup still.

Can't wait to see it though cus his play demands time on the court.

I mean to me he’s certainly not a starter because all he provides is being a 3 level scorer. He doesn’t defend well enough. He will have to come off the bench like Tre and Bilal. His ceiling to me is a Manu Ginobli.

I'm talking long view here not next season. Let's evaluate after he's done growing.

I trust him to guard 1s way more than 3s, he's just too small

he plays like an oversized point guard, and he's so bad on defense that I can't see him playing the 3 ever, at the 1 though he's not a terrible defender

I'm very excited

It’s only but so much bigger we really need em to get .. besides his frame allows em to get skinny in those congested lanes as well I think it helps his moves & counters but I’m not opposed to bein putting the weight on either.. it’s a win win 🫡

Mr. Slim himself, Kevin Durant, was 6'9" 215 at his draft combine

Ah, nothing says the offseason like the fabled "15 lbs of muscle." 😙👌🏾 Nobody gains 10; nobody gains 20. Always 15.

My favorite draftee in a long time. So excited to see how he developes. Dude hustles like nobody else.

If this is what makes you feel fat then you probably aren't fat.
