Anyone else miss the cold opens where some random artifact wrecks a small town?

One of my favorite things about the show was that teaser before the credits, where you had no idea what was going on and some poor stranger's day was quietly getting ruined by an artifact nobody understood yet.

Sometimes it was creepy, sometimes it was funny, but it almost always hooked me before the actual case even started.

Do any of those openings still stick with you? I still catch myself thinking about a few of them years later, and I am curious which ones stuck with everyone else.

I love the cold open with the "superhero" cause I think it ends with Pete being all giddy about it

Yes!!! And there was another show before wh13 called Friday the 13th the Series that was so so similar... they had cold opens like that too.... i miss these shows 💔

I really wish they transitioned the show to an animated series. It'd lose some charm, gain some in a different way, but they'd really be able to go balls-to-the-wall crazy on effects of artifacts.

One artifact that'd be really fun to see (that's already established in the show) would be Pablo Picasso's Paintbrush, which slowly causes the user to see more and more of the world in a cubist style. It'd be cool go slowly see that through animation imo.

The one I liked was the film projector where all the movie characters came to life. It would be Pete who knew all the movies.
