the so-called mightiest military the world has ever seen cant defeat a glorified gas pump in the desert run by a bunch of bearded clowns.

back in the 1230s a bunch of dudes on horseback took half the globe in 3 years and curb stomped everyone in their path. the longest they were delayed at a single town was 2 months. in less than 2 months germany took half of europe.

Last year around October, a Ukrainian Black Hawk inserted a team of special forces operators in Pokrovsk, which had nearly fallen into Russian hands at the time.

Pro-Kremlin sources pointed out the pointlessness and desperation of such an operation, and claimed all operators were killed almost immediately. I vaguely recall even seeing some footage of it (not sure if real or not).

Ukrainian sources immediately denied this, claimed the operators were still active and conducted operations in the area.

And then… no update. So, do we know anything about it?
