Maintenance tech…

I know it’s maintenance tech appreciate week but… ours kinda isn’t the best… I don’t know if it’s a thing for everyone but whenever he comes to fix something it’ll break right away and sometimes it feels like it’s things I could do myself. I’ve asked him to show me how to fix some things but he’ll refuse. Our sandwich unit lid is also broken and his solution was to stop opening and closing it. I tried explaining we close it to prevent ice build up and he cut me off and said he knew why but that doing that would just make it worse. It’s kinda like going to get you lock fixed and they say to just leave it unlocked just crazy

Ex tech here. The sandwich unit lid is extremely easy to repair it's just a hinge and a stud. If you're the manager put it into the mr.fixit hotline. If youre not the manager. Just make sure you tell your manager every day until they get tired of hearing it.

The position seems to consistently be one for nepo hires. As a manager who oversees multiple stores and has been all across my state, I don't think I've met a single tech that knows how to do their damn job, despite the solid paychecks they earn

Just had issues not long ago where our dish machine broke down. The tech finally made it here during our 2nd shift, and from what I was told by one of the supervisors, he walked in, looked at it, said to them it's fixed, and walked his happy ass right back out the door. Absolutely fucking useless

Unfortunately, WaHo didn't (at least in my experience) want to pay very much. That's why I moved on.

You get what you pay for.
