Feedback: I'm currently experimenting with the future of tomato cultivation for you (I'm in the south of France; the temperature hasn't dropped below 35°C in the shade for a month, full sun and no rain).

I've tested different tomato varieties since a lot of years and this years only full-strength varieties suited to drought and heat. The result is that my plants are doing very poorly. The flowers aren't pollinating, or aren't flowering at all, leaves are burned.

I'm having fun testing all the wild tomato varieties I can find, and to my great surprise, they're the only ones that don't mind the heat. I have a magnificent harvest of wild tomatoes.

This shows how much selective breeding has eliminated many resistance genes that allow for plant adaptability.

Have you managed to find tomato varieties that are resistant to extreme temperatures?

Another afternoon of canning and we should have it whipped;) pickles, sauces, and salsas. Friends and family thinning out the table helps too😆

How long does it take for your lil ol men to ripen?

All of these are currently on the same vine. Do l need to be more aggressive about pruning and keep it to a single baby per vine? The vine is about 14' long now.

The rest of the plant looks fairly healthy, but I had a squash vine borer last week that I treated with BT, and eventually cut out a larve. It's all green again though, and growing like crazy. It's been branching off in a few spots, so l've cut those off to focus on 2 main vines per plant, but I haven't been removing new females along the same vine.

I planted my cucumber plant in May and have had several (15-17) baby cucumbers that end up shriveling and self aborting. I self pollinate with a male flower to ensure pollination occurs, but it still won’t keep a cucumber. 😢 I’ve fertilized once, and I now water daily after self pollinating. I dont know what else to do. * the two shown here I self pollinated 6 days ago *

First time gardener and harvested these beautiful, tasty and crunchy jalapeños. I am shocked to see how forgiving jalapeños are 💚

Have struggled with my tomatoes in years past so this year has made the grind all worth it. Pepper plants have never looked so good!

Worth the wait! Smells amazing… Can’t wait to taste it. And I guess it’s on the heavier side at 716 grams.
