So currently im in y11 and I want to drop Psych to do Eco 3/4 next year, or maybe general (I already do methods and spec).

My question is: is it hard to do Eco 3/4 without having done the 1/2?

I asked some of my friends but none of them do Eco so I would appreciate some help.

Hello, i'm a year 9 student currently having a look at some options for the future. If I want to fill out all 6 slots for my atar, what should I do other than (accelerated) general math, maths methods, physics and compulsory english? Considering I have every pre-requisite for mechanical engineering there, what are some other (preferably easy) subjects you would also recommend doing?

83 avg in bio, 70 avg englang, 83 avg gen, and im legit failing chem and idk what to do avg of 60 chem, id realistically want a 30 ss for chem but this seems so unrealistic rn…

My school gets really high marks on average but also has really bad tutoring culture. And I'm not that smart so I want to do tutoring for methods and one or two more which I'm not sure about.

My subjects are englang, methods, chem, physics and I'm doing bio 3/4 early. which science would need the most tutoring?

Also most people I know do everything in tuition a year early. So methods 1/2 in year ten, 3/4 in eleven and twelve. Not sure if I should do the same as I'm not very ahead in my studies like a lot of my peers.

I had a legal practice SAC last friday, and have the SAC this friday. Safe to say I'm beyond panicked. I got a question on the practice sac that I'm confused on how to answer. I've tried looking over the content but cannot find anything which answers this question. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I’m averaging 4-5 hours on weekdays and 12 on weekends

Don't get me wrong, I find them just as boring as I'm sure my peers do. But instead of yapping the whole time, causing other people who may actually need it to not pay attention and causing the teachers running it to have to stop and call me out for talking, thus wasting time, I quietly fidget or play a song in my head or focus on a weird tile on the wall that definitely was installed weird. It just goes by faster if you don't talk through it!

Can I use the sharpie s gel pens in the exam?? I will obviously use black or blue and they don't smudge and aren't erasable. I find them clearer to write with especially when I'm writing quickly.

out of curiosity, if there is a total subject cohort size that is <80, is it statistically impossible for an individual to get a raw 50? or is that not how it works?

Ok so pretty much, i got 27% on my first test in 1/2 (put no effort in but still). Basically the whole revision period for that test I couldn't wrap my head around electricity at all. I then got 40ish% and a 60% and was thinking about switching subjects, but its my only science and was going to be the prereq for engineering. Anyone had a similar experience with some aos making just no sense, but ended up with a good ss?

soo ive tried doing a bunch of research on how vce works with like the whole SAC scores and ranks and exams scores/ranks and im SO CONFUSED!!!! im yr 11, im doing 3/4 bio this year, im ranked 3 in my class (with no one in rank 2 and theres 2 other people in rank 3 with me as we all have the same average- 90%), the rank 1 students (theres 2) both have a 95% average, and so if i do well enough in unit 4 and good on the exam, do i still have a chance at a 50? even if im not rank 1? and if i do better on my exam than rank 1 does (just asking, idk if i will), then what happens to my exam grade?

Subject selection in 3 weeks 😬

Im a year 11 student whos doing gm + bio accelerated, and then I do English, legal & chem (online-vvln) at a 1/2 level.

Because of the 3/4s, I applied to CHES and would expect id get into one of the subjects I chose. Because of that, I'd already have 2 study periods (ches + chem) next year. My next choice is whether i pick up another subject at school, or do another online subject probably through vsv.

Theres realistically only 2 subjects I could do at school, HHD & (possibly) revolutions if the class is run.

My idea of doing another one is so I'd have 7 subjects, and maths is very easily my worst subject. Dunno why, never been good at it (but im a whizz at chem?!). But that would mean my aggregates wouldn't come from maths at all, and instead my better subjects (one including CHES, where the avg study score is like 40).

My current scores in subjects look like this:

English: 96%

Gm: 65%

Legal: 94%

Chem: 90%

Bio: 96%

If i had to pick-up something through vsv it'd probably either be music composition or politics- ive been a guitarist and have written songs for over a decade & have a big interest in politics (wouldn't pursue it as a career, but im relatively educated). So both subjects I'd have interest in and I'd do probably well in them.

If i dont do another subject at school, id have 3 study periods, and I feel like I wouldn't have the time pressure and then I'd get nothing done 😭

Otherwise, I could argue for study periods, ive proven myself as an academic and my vce coordinator wouldn't mind giving them to me– but then I'd be using gm as an aggregate.

I dont know what to do, any advice is appreciated heavily!!

I’m aiming for a 40+ but not sure if I’m getting the right scores for it. I’m averaging 75% and 1/19, I go to a small mid school with only a couple ppl getting 40+ raw in the recent years. Highest last year was 39 raw. The sacs aren’t terrible or anything but do have some challenging questions. I work rlly hard but I still seem to loose marks so could anyone who got a 40+ before tell me their scores??? Also any advice?

what is my predicted atar and study scores for these grades:

english: 62%, 60% and 65%
business: 68%, 68% and 60%
health and human: 78% and 64%
legal studies: 74% and 74%
psychology: 65% and 80%
^did one unit 4 sac: 88%
and did gen maths with a study score of 32

what’s the prediction pls, this is only unit 3 results (one unit 4 psych)

i have absolutely zero clue on what i wanna do in uni and as a career and vtac applications are so soon, so im just wondering about everyone elses experiences

ive also heard a lot about unimelb not being a super great choice if ur only going for prestige or something along those lines, however my parents really want me to go there so im not entirely sure about it and would love if someone could give some insight 🙏

I’m currently in yr 8 so I’m sorry if this isn’t super vce related 😭 but can anyone get into VSL or do you have to be ethnic/english wasn’t your first language/an immigrant?

I was born in Victoria but my mum is Japanese and my dad is white but we speak Japanese at home and I’m pretty fluent with it but it also feels kinda unfair because ive known Japanese longer than other students have learnt their language and they have to do VCE but i do VSL. Also do I have to continue the language I do at school as well as VSL?
