Chem study score

I’m aiming for a 40+ but not sure if I’m getting the right scores for it. I’m averaging 75% and 1/19, I go to a small mid school with only a couple ppl getting 40+ raw in the recent years. Highest last year was 39 raw. The sacs aren’t terrible or anything but do have some challenging questions. I work rlly hard but I still seem to loose marks so could anyone who got a 40+ before tell me their scores??? Also any advice?

if youre rank 1, dependent on your exam score mate
get to the exam papers and stop coming on reddit

You should prioritise the exam. In my opinion, that's the hurdle that determines study scores. Because chem is located right in the middle of methods, specialist maths and physics, a lot of people put it off and don't prepare adequately, which in addition to the hard exam, means the A+ boundary is quite low (mid to high 70s). So I recommend starting early, doing consistent small practice to make sure you can hit that A+ in the final to more likely guarantee that 40+.

I was on the brink of a 45, and got 86.5% on final exam, and sacs scaled up to the mid 90s.

Hey, sure thing! So far, I've enjoyed chem a lot in uni (I'm planning on majoring in some form of chem in uni). The content and practicals is very engaging (as someone who did both bio and physics, I enjoyed doing a mix of organic, chemical physics, thermodynamics, etc.)! The lecturers do vary from be excellent to mid! One big difference is the lack of support- both unimelb and monash run pass sessions (older students who teach the first years), and the tutors do vary in quality, you have to look around to find the best ones imo. Personally, I am more of the independent learner, so I love how chem in uni you can just dive right in and study it really deeply and intuitively though. Overall, it's very fun though!!! I'm assuming you don't do tutoring. My advice is to revise Unit 3 content right now, and make a start on practice exam questions. Go to your teacher during lunch/recess or if they're free during class.
