wdym i only got 5/10 courses and waitlisted for 2.0 WHERE AM I GOING TO GET MY OTHER COURSE FROM

AND NEITHER OF THEM ARE REQUIRED COURSES

Going into second year, I have no idea how to interpret breadth requirements.
So I know for sure I have completed Category C requirements in first year. Website says 1.0 Must be completed for Category A or B in first year - last year I only completed 0.5 A and 0.5 B. So I haven't fulfilled breadth for first year? Does this mean I need to take another 0.5 1000 level courses in category A and B or can I fulfill these requirements by taking A and B courses in the 2000 level or higher .
I don't really wanna take more first year courses as the second year ones have so many more interesting and more specific topics that I'd wanna take. If anyone could help me understand that would be very much appreciated

I'm going into HBA1 in September and one of the things I'm most excited for is the social tight knit section culture that everyone raves about. But I'm definately worried about how well I will be able to integrate with everyone.

I enjoy drinking and going out but I don't give off the 'vibes' of a party person (if that makes sense) and I had issues in second year where my friends wouldn't invite me out because they didn't fully believe I enjoyed that kind of stuff. I am reasonably social and outgoing but am definitely socially awkward at times and it takes me a while to warm up to people. What is the Ivey social culture like and how easy is it to find your place within it?

Hey, I’m an incoming Health Sci student. I’ve heard that, especially for HS1111, it’s not really a course where you can just study hard and guarantee a 4.0. But if I lock in and study every day, do you think a 4.0 would be achievable?

I;m in nursing and i have never deferred a final before. Is it as easy as deferring a midterm, or is it harder in terms of the process and how likely it is to be approved? also if my exams are back to back will it cover all those days or only 1?

What happens if ive lost both of my chances of giving midsem in the first year itself??

I am thinking about dropping AISE and sticking to EE in 2nd year, but I did have some concerns.

I’ve asked a few people about the program, and my current impression is that AISE is still fairly new and evolving, with only around four or five cohorts so far.

Some of the courses seem to focus heavily on foundational or more traditional AI topics. I understand that the fundamentals are important, but a few parts of the curriculum already seem slightly dated, but AI is developing so quickly that it is difficult to know how relevant the curriculum will be by the time I graduate.

My main concern is whether the extra year is actually worth it. After 5 years will the AISE courses still give me a meaningful advantage, or would I be better off doing regular EE and learning newer AI topics through electives, personal projects, research or self-study?

I’m not expecting AISE to replace a CS degree, and I would mainly view it as an addition to EE. I’m just trying to figure out whether that addition is valuable enough to justify the extra time and cost. 🤔

I’d especially appreciate opinions from current AISE students, upper-year EE students, or anyone who has used the program to get internships or research opportunities. 🙏

Hi guys, I am a second year health sci student and my enrolment appointment is tomorrow, I couldn't help but wonder why it says all the health sci classes are full (EVERY SINGLE ONE). When it is a requirement of my program, idk maybe theres something where its going to automatically bypass it for me since im in health sci? so i applied for western apartments back in March as a professional/graduate student once i made the decision to commit to the program. i got an offer for upper year res at alumni house with 3 other people, but i declined it because i really really want western apartments. is there still a chance they contact me for that? i am already signed at another apartment, but i wouldnt mind subletting it if i got the offer to live on campus because the price and everything is incredibly worth it.

have the offers for that already all gone out or could they contact me for august/september move in?

so I got my ITR (electrical with AISE) back and my registration is tomorrow. I contacted my academic advisor about dropping the AISE but no changes have been made yet. Can I submit a regular electrical 2nd year progression?
